Music to my Ears

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Mar 23, 2006
This system is more than enough equipment to be played in the home. I have always accepted the bass quality of my previous speakers to be ample and satisfactory, but as soon as I set-up the Logitech X230 I knew what I had been missing. The sub-woofer is fantastic (under my desk) and the satellite speakers emit clear, distinct sounds. No muffled voices and no distortion on the bass. The setting up procedure is child's-play and I am no expert, but it was easy. I priced this system in one of the large stores and they were much more expensive than Amazon's price. This price cannot be beaten and you do not have to look any further for sound quality at its best.
Congratulations to Amazon - a tribute, well deserved.

Logitech X-230 p.c.speakers

(5 out of 5) by Pete on Oct 23, 2004 (North Wales)
The quality of this item is absolutely stunning for the price. They look (and more importantly sound) miles better than you could possibly believe for an item in its price range.Changing from your standard P.C. speakers to these beasts will totally transform your machine.Bass from subwoofer is awesome whilst satellites are loud, clear and do not distort even at full volume!.Totally recommended !!!!!.

Don't look any further. Just buy it!

(5 out of 5) by A. K. Chaudary on Apr 20, 2006 (Oxford, UK)
Pros:

1. Extremely deep bass
2. Nice treble at both high frequency and mid frequency
3. Satellite speakers have dual-driver technology which means that there is a separate speaker cone to output high and mid range frequencies in each sattelite speaker
4. Simple to set up. Just three leads need to be connected: the lead from the speakers to subwoofer, obviously the power lead and the lead that goes into your soundcard.
5. With doors closed and speakers pointing away from it sound outside is hardly noticeable except at relatively high volumes
6. Nice 2 year warranty
7. Good bang for the buck
8. Speakers look really cool and decent at the same time
9. Easy to reach main volume control on right satellie speaker
10. Easy to see green LED on right satellite speaker to show power status of speakers.
11. Well placed headphone jack on right sat speaker enabling headphones with short leads to be attached. Particularly useful for desktop PC users.

Cons:

1. Speakers attach to subwoofer via a serial cable, much like a computer monitors' and so satellite speakers cannot be used on their own.
2. Volume control for bass is at the back of the subwoofer which is always under the table, so hard to reach.
3. The minimum bass volume does not deactivate the subwoofer as it should if someone wanted to completely cut out bass
4. Subwoofer is quite heavy and modertely large

Amazing Sound For So Little Money!

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Mar 14, 2006
I was a little apprehensive when I looked at these, as I was looking at a 2.1 system that could play good music at a reasonable price as an upgrade to the standard desktop speakers I received with my PC. After doing a little research I decided to get this the Logitech X-230. After 5 minutes set-up time (couldn't decide where I wanted to put the subwoofer), I was listening to sound that is easily comparable to systems worth at least 3 times the price of this one. The system is happy to play at all different levels with super smooth bass. The satellite speakers are very crisp and clear. Just make sure the music you play is of good quality as you will notice the system can point out the faults in the recording/copy. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Best £26 I`ve ever spent.

(5 out of 5) by A. Woodbridge on Dec 20, 2006 (Scotland)
Being very sceptical I never read reviews however, I read the ones for these speakers and boy, am I glad I did. The sound quality you get for the price is excellent. I held onto my old speakers from a previous PC until they fell apart and now wish I`d binned them ages ago. If you are going to buy a set of speakers for your PC buy these. You will not be disappointed.
I tried them out with Roger Waters (Amused to Death) and the clarity was excellent. Then went with Rory Gallagher (Crest of a Wave) and no distortion.
If you want small powerful speakers you cannot go wrong with these. Happy listening.
