Sony HDR-FX1E Handycam

If your looking to solve issue like low light filming and wanting more manual control than you can shake a stick at then this is the one for you. Its replacement, the HDR-FX7, seems to have gained a few items (like HDMI connectivity) but to me its lost a lot of the features that the FX1 has.
Focussing is done fully auto or on a manual ring, gain is simple to control as is iris etc.
The other thing is you can put an analogue VHS video player through the camera and via iLink convert them to digital for capture on a pc via suitable software.
As this is 'last years model' then these units are a real bargain either new or on auction sites.
So far a great camera, all its got to do now is stay reliable and bish bosh, job done.
