Excelent Camera

The Leica lens keeps an impressive f/2.8 all over the zoom range, the Optical Image Stabilizer (IS) works very well, but don't expect miracles.
I like the 12x optical zoom and the image quality it produces. Even with low light and the flash turned off the images are very good.
The camera is very light, compact and lightweight.
The camera has manual and automatic modes for all the family.
I highly recommend this camera. Buy without any doubt.

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Oct 16, 2004Its only a 3.1 megapixel camera, and I found quite high noise leves at 400 ISO setting, but 80 to 100 ISO ok.
I find the FZ3 is great for hand held use using the fantastic Image Stabilisation feature (IS), set to mode 2 gives camera shake free images using the 12x optical zoom (35EQ 420mm). The lens is also constant aperture zoom at f2.8, Impressive! Add to that no long time delays on start-up or shutter release and you have a versatile camera. Works best in daylight. White ballance ok but in flourescent light I had to set manually.
Menu system very logical and easy to use, hardly need to read the manual. I like the fact it is supplied with a good lens hood.
on camera flash good but can't connect external unit. For the novice it has a simple mode, I thought the Sceen mode options well chosen and easy to use. Its a choice that offers good value plus the advantage of excellent IS. buy one!
