Robust and Reliable
If like me with the arrival of DSLR cameras you've gone nuts and snapped pretty much anything that has got in your way then you'll know about running out of power at a crucial moment and losing the best shot of the day because of a flat battery. Simple answer, buy another. The Canon NB-2LH fits my EOS-350D perfectly and is also designed to be fitted into the BG-E3 Battery Grip for the EOS 350/400D. My advice, don't risk it, buy another battery.
I've given this item four stars rather than five because of the price - some compatibles are cheaper but may not perform as well.

You need one
You need a spare battery for digital Eos ,if you do not take one you will run out of battery when you are about to take an amazing picture.
The options are a cheap generic or a canon , I bought them both and compared them.
The Canon seems to last longer and according to some reviews it will also last longer , but it costs 3 times more.

Canon or Jessops?
When I bought the EOS350D I also bought a Jessops spare battery - out of the two, the canon has completely died on me (no power, the recharger goes green after 20 seconds, but there is still no power) - the jessops one is still going strong. At 3 times the cost - I'll be buying a compatible one.
p.s. the camera is fantastic.

A good battery but a little bit expensive and on the low capacity side
With digital two batteries is a minimum. It is a decent battery (do not buy a generic one) but Canon could have provided a more powerful one for the 400D right away, considering the premium you need to pay for an original one.

Good, but get it somewhere else
Its a fantastic battery, but thats all its is - a battery. It can be found elsewhere from as low as £5, so I wouldn't advise shelling out 8x to replace it.
