works a treat.

Being an owner of a car with the new "heat reflective windscreen i felt my wonderful tomtom go was lacking the strengh to hold onto signals (not tomtoms fault !!). I too think the price is a bit steep for an ariel but it u are geting a weak signal you need this. I installed my ariel cable in the plastic door inner lining of my car (10 min very simple job)and it works wonders i now get minimum of 4 signals + lots more local satilites and now never have to depend on the "estimated point, based on current speed before signal was lost" u have just spend 400+ to buy tomtom go whats another £50 to make it work perfectly ALL THE TIME. get it i works 100%

Superb bit of kit, should have bought one ages ago...

We didnt mount ours externally. We ended up installing it behind the interior mirror inside our car. The seller gave us some other recommendations for installation, like on the dash. Think it depends how bad your signal suffers.

Easy to fit, even for me. It comes with another base which has the antenna cable built in. The base is the same as the standard one, and has the power socket on the back. You just unscrew your original one and swap over. The antenna part can only be described as a small black square item 35mm square by around 8mm thick. I was told that if I mounted it to the inside of the screen (double side tape) then the tomtom sticker part should face into the cabin.

The results are great. Before I'd lose the signal from time to time under bridges and in built up area's, which can be a pain when you are in the city and need to find your destination or car parking. I havent lost it once with the new antenna. Does exactly what it says on the tin!..well box :)

tomtom navigator

(4 out of 5) by nafisa on Mar 29, 2005 (london,feltham)
the tomtom navigator was alright because it showed all roads clearly and the voice of it was alright but the problem was that it never showed any schools and local pubs cause mincab or taxi drivers need to find these places and it would make there life a lot more easier to see these places. I recomened this to my uncle and dad but they found it a bit annoying cause it had no places to show like local pubs or schools or collages ,the only pubs they showed were the mordern ,popular ones in london or yeah and if the road is getting fixed or not but apart from all that its fine i hope u look forward in to this matter
