I have watched birds for 33 years and owned several pairs of binoculars of various makes and seen dozens of good ones, but I had never seen any as good as these. The picture is bright and clear as it usually is in the modern high-grade/high-definition binoculars, but in the Nikon it is also sharp to the very edge of the picture and w/o any chromatic aberration. Normally the edges are more or less blurred and CA is quite common. Also the focusing is very fast, much faster than in any other binoculars that I have seen, only 90 degree turn of the knob from a Robin in few meters to the Buzzards in the clouds. No pre-focusing is needed. There is no slack in the rotation. I have found the Nikon HG 10x42s as an excellent choice for a serious bird watcher.
