BRILLIANT!! quality item, does the job well

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jul 9, 2004
surprisingly theres hardly any reviews of this player on the internet. I recieved this player today and plugged it in and have had no problems. It IS MULTIREGIONAL as stated on the amazon description. But you may have to change the settings on the player the first time when playing non region 2 disks. Build quality is very good, slim, stylish, sleek.

comes with remote, batteries, s video and audio cables. NO SCART

has some very good features:
-you can go straight into the movie, without having to watch any forced adverts, trailers or promotional material on the dvd using the disk navigator feature.

- it also keeps a record of where you stopped your dvd, so that you can resume playabck where you left. EVEN WHEN YOU SWITCH IT OFF FROM THE MAINS, BRILLIANT!!

- remote is sleek stylish very easy to use.

overall 10/10 ;-}

2. Played discs from regions 1 2 & 3 without problem
3. Plays all my home movie DVD+R & +RW also DVD-R & -RW
4. Excellent picture

I paid £ 68 ish (Delivered) for this player - You could easily pay four times that amount and get no better machine...

Excellent Value!!

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Oct 29, 2004
After spending a few days deciding upon which player to go for I picked the PIONEER DV-370S, as it's multi region, plays DVD-R / DVD-RW and has progressive scan, RGB, and is a good looking slim player.

About 2 minutes after receiving it, I had it plugged in and connected. Put in a region 2 disc and was extremely happy with the picture / sound quality. It's also much faster than my previous Sony 725 when skipping chapters etc, basically it's instant.

I then tested a region 1 (RCE) disc, no problems at all! Likewise with a region 3 disc.

Finally I tried two different types of DVD-R disc, both played perfectly.

I'm yet to test DVD-RW discs or playing mp3 / photos, but I'm not expecting any problems.

The only thing that did not work was the progressive scan, which I expected would work on my 100Mhz Sony TV, but didn't. I suspect the TV can not support it.

All in all, if your looking for a cheap / good looking multi player that plays DVD-R / -RW, I would recommend you go for this one!!!

DVD player, Pioneer DV-370S, Muti-Region

(5 out of 5) by Squiff on Sep 17, 2004 (Hertfordshire United Kingdom)
Just bought the above, it is excellent quality apart from i had problems playing region 1 DVD's at first, they played in Black & White!!? I discovered that to make it play colour you have to go to:
Initial settings, then Video Output, then AV connector out, then select it to RGB. Sorted.

Bargain quality - plays everything...

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Sep 5, 2004
Got mine this morning - magnificent DVD quality from component out to my projector. Plays everything I've thrown at it including DVD+R's full of MP3's and WMA - just plays them beautifully with great sound quality.

Small and sleek (I got the black one - looks even better if you ask me) a marvel and a bargain. Sure you could pay more and get the much respected new Pioneer 575 - but do you really need to play DivX's, SACD and DVD Audio? If not then go for this - it's definitely a step up from the 360 - and look at the reviews that got from happy customers on Amazon...
