Great music player

(4 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Feb 19, 2005
I think this is a great personal mini disc player.

I have had no problems with the software that was with the player. I think this is the easiest player to use and I love it. I think it is very good that it also recharges the batteries and I took it on holiday and it was beneficial that I only had to carry the charger and not lots of batteries.

I have liked it so much that I have put a mini disc player in my car so I can listen to my music.

Overall I think it is great value and I have not had any problems with this product.

I've had this minidisc recorder for 3 months now and I tell you this thing's an angel when it come's to sound quality! If you listen to this thing, you're listening to cd! You won't tell the difference. It's even got digital imput facility when you wanna record your favourite cd. If you're looking to buy 1, get this 1 and get it on this website. You won't go wrong I promise you!

Software seriously lets it down

(3 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Nov 20, 2004
I got this MD player about 6 months ago. I was really excited, I mean in theory it's great. You can store a huge amount on the minidiscs themselves, its all shiny and cool looking and generally the features are useful and easy to use. The controls on the wire of the headphones are good too.

However there are some pretty serious bad points.
1. My headphones have broken. First they started making buzzing noises while playing and then the left ear stopped working completely. I have to pull the connection slightly out of the controls and hold it to get it to work properly. But I can give them the benefit of the doubt on this; maybe its just mine that are faulty.
2. The software is terrible. It seems quite easy to use but it has caused me nothing but problems. I think I have had to reinstall it just about every time I've used it because of some error message or another. Frankly it's just not good enough.

The player itself is good; one of the best ive seen, as long as you are luckier than I was with the headphones. But Sony really needs to sort out the software (SonicStage) because I know Im not the only one who has given it a negative review.
