The best optimum player your money can buy

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on May 24, 2004
I was looking for a long time to buy a new diskman for my self and recently this one caught my eye in a shop, but I was hesitating because the price was more than the average. But then I compared the capabilities of this little fellow and the rest players and I can say that this is the best offer. You get a nice diskman and at the same time superb mp3 player. The advantage is next to the regular CD player you get an mp3 player with 700MB "RAM", which can be reloaded in a blink of an eye, not mentioning the custom playlist options etc. You just store all your music on 1,2... well maybe some music maniacs will required 3 or 4 CDs... and hit the road. If you want a new diskman buy this one! The only think I regret about it is that I paid a little bit more than the amazon's price.

Excellent Product - No Problems With It

(5 out of 5) by Ms. Laura Varney on Oct 1, 2004 (Eastbourne, UK)
this cd player is amasing. the software supplied installed fine on windows 2000, and ive already written a cd containing 186 tracks! the ability to shuffle in groups or the whole cd is great and it will turn itself off after a certain amount, it looks great.

a few not so great bits - the headphones, might as well bin em, personally im a Koss fan, these produce amasing sound quality with this player.

also creating a cd does take alot of time but it is so worth it!

enjoy!

warning! read before you buy

(5 out of 5) by Shelley Wood on Aug 13, 2004 (Blackpool)
please read this before you buy this item.
while i cannot fault the hardware the software supplied with it (sonic stage) is very bad.
Sonic stage will not install without problems on Window XP. it is very difficult to create Cd's with more than about 30 tracks on. Mine has now totally ground to a halt and will not convert any files. Tech support for this software is non existence.
if you are looking at an atrak player over an mp3/I pod i would spend the extra on a digital music system.

Sony Kicks ass!

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Feb 25, 2005
I got one of these at christmas and have found it to be an excellent cd player. I was origonaly going to go for an mp3 player but I decided that I'd like something that could play cd's so I didnt have to go through the hassle of converting everything. The headphones arent the greatest but they are certainly not the worst. Battery life is excellent and I havent had any problems with jumpy playback. Converting music to the atrac system can take ages but its worth it. I usually start creating a cd then watch a movie or go off and do something else for a few hours, so far I havent had any problems with the software crashing. As long as you dont expect to burn atrac cd's within minutes you'll like this system. For the price it most definately kicks ass!!!

also plays mp3

(5 out of 5) by H. Mehta on Aug 12, 2006 (london)
i got this player like a year ago, it was much cheaper than other mp3 players, even though mp3 players are cheaper now. A lot of ppl seem to be complaining about the sonic stage, but i dont use it much, because mp3 format CDs can also be played by this player, and i use nero to burn my music which are already in mp3 format. Although shuffle and some of the functions cant b used with mp3 CD, i still find it lot less trouble to use this format.
exellent battery life, n playback quality isnt 2 bad
