Our daughters were so impressed by this that we immediately ordered a second to avoid arguments. They both use Winamp which does not give file copy facilities but the free version of Musicmatch will open m3u playlists and copy the files from their current folders to a temporary folder. From there thay are easily burnt to a CD and yes it will read CD-RW's. Less than 30 minutes to write an existing playlist (including using Musicmatch for the first time).

This must be the best buy I have had in a while.

The high compatibility with cd formats and file formats are a good reason to buy this product alone. Add to that you get Sony's fantastic new ATRAC3PLUS format to play around with and you have something special. If you choose to use this format instead of playing regular cds then you will get about 30 albums compressed onto one ATRAC cd, 70+ hours of battery life and superb sound quality as well!

The price is as low as other cd players which offer no mp3 compatibility or long battery life.

The only bad point about this product is the slow 'fast forward' or 'rewind' functions when you are playing an mp3 or ATRAC track.

Compatibility with .wma would have been nice but it wasn't to be.

Apart from that, this cd player deserves 4/5.

Well,,, not much to say about this player, it does what it says it does, it's got awesome battery life. I don't care for the Atrac software and/or compression, because it's not compatible with generic mp3 cd players. I was able to burn an "Mp3 CD" with Ahead's Nero Express, which played perfectly in this CD player, as well as my shelf system at work ;)

Had this for a couple of months and it's great - bought it mainly for holidays. I found quite by accident when running defrag that files I thought I'd deleted after burning my disc were still around - I've only burnt two discs so far, but managed to free up about 1GB of hard disc space when I found the files! They went into c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\sony corporation .......!!
The files are either *.omg or *.rdb - hope this is useful.

I already own a personal CD player but was given this one as a present. The only benefits it has over my old one is that I can now get my entire CD collection onto one CD - if I could be bothered! Personally I'd rather read a book!
