Mini only in size, DEFINATELY not in capability

Had the mini for about a week now, and I've got to say, it's by far one of the best mp3 players I've come across. The scroll wheel is a great feature, with just the slightest touch needed to scroll through songs, playlists etc.
The software provided, iTunes, is very simple to set up and use, and transferring songs is a breeze.
Extra features on the mini like the games, notes, contacts list etc are very handy, especially Music Quiz, one of the four games.
One problem I've come across is charging the mini. I turn it off, connect the charger into the port on the bottom, then as it starts to charges, it seems unsure whethers it's on or not. The apple logo is present, like when it powers up, but then it takes awhile before displaying the main screen. This obviously slows down charging time dramatically when it is on the whole time, so make sure it is switched off fully before leaving it to charge.
Otherwise, the iPod mini is great product and I would definately encourage anyone interested to buy one

Excellent - but headphones let it down

REALLY pleased with this, although I admit it took me a while to work how to use the "intuitive" click-wheel. I must be a bit thick. Once I figured that out though, it's just brilliant ! The iPod mini is even smaller than I was expecting - it's so tiny ! Sound quality is good (with MP3 at 128k), but improved noticably by substituting the tacky white "Please mug me, I have an iPod in my pocket" earphones with a pair of Sonys I had left over from a 35 quid walkman bought about 10 years ago. In my opinion, this is either a case of form coming before function, or Apple are serioulsy short-changing buyers with these poor quality 'phones on a product costing not far short of 200 hundred pounds ! But let's be fair, 'phones aside, this is an astounding product and I would recommend it to anyone who can "make do" with 4GB of space (I managed to get about 1000 MP3s on there at 128k).

Mean Green Jammin' Machine

I got this only yesterday and I have already imported all of my songs onto it! It's got a sleek metal green casing with a white click-wheel - it comes with a belt clip, a Firewire cable (Mac), a USB 2.0 cable (PC), charger, earbuds, software (iPod software and the latest iTunes), and a users guide. The packaging is also fantastic when you first get your iPod mini and it all unfolds. I also bought the dock to make charging and syncing easier. There is planty of space too - around 4gb (slightly less if you add options and notes etc. - see the Apple website to find out more about saving lithium-ion battery power and replacement batteries) and if anything goes wrong I have a 1 year warranty.
Good buy - worth it for the price.

Both good and bad...

Excellent software for ripping and importing / exporting your tracks. Well made player but the storage capacity is too small. Battery life is quite poor. MUCH better value is the Creative Zen Touch. iPod is very popular but it's more a branded fashion item than a great player. Over-rated to the extreme.

Honestly the Best Music Player Ever

(5 out of 5) by Max on Sep

I got this brilliant music player yesterday and it is the best thing I have ever bought. It can hold 1000 songs, which for me is more than enough. It is a lot smaller than what you would think it would be, the pictures make it look alot bigger than it really it. It has a really easy interface which I mastered in 5 minutes. Although lots of people have been complain about the battery and its life and how long it lasts it has improved a lot since the firt Ipods came out. To round up, it is a brilliant player.
