Not much to fault, they're great!!

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on May 29, 2004
These speakers are amazing! I've only had them for a couple of days and I'm well impressed.

The sound from the speakers is so clear, and they look great especially without the grills on. I've read other reviews that said they're abit quiet, but in a medium sized room, turning them up to half way shakes the room.

You don't get any distortion what so ever, but sometimes the bass can overpower the rest. It doesn't sound that good playing rock or anything heavy, but hip hop and drum & bass sounds great.

I would definatly recommend them, there really isn't much to fault. They look and sound amazing, and for this price, you can't ask for much more.

Boombastic! Great Looking, great sound, great value.

Great looking, great sound, great value.

Having been recommended these speakers by a comprehensive review in a computing magazine I was confident they would meet my needs. I was after a 2.1 system (not 5.1 due to all the wiring, and room remodelling work necessary to hide them!) and this set-up just about provides best bang-per-buck that you can buy. I was slightly nervous about purchasing speakers from a non-traditional speaker manufacturer, but there was no need to be.

The only criticism I had been made aware of was the attachment of the remote operating unit to the speaker cable itself. It took no time at all to gently part the cable for the satellites and adjust them to the correct length for my desk- it was easy. There is no cutting involved and the cable is designed for this very purpose. What was all the moaning about?

The remote is well designed, and the small blue LED is attractive and helpful for reminding you when you have left the speakers on! The speakers themselves are just plain attractive and the satellites are far more good looking with the protective covers off.

Overall, sound quality is 'tight', but I would have to agree with the other reviewers that the bass is consistently heavy,
despite adjusting the attenuation control at the rear of the sub.If you leave your computer running with the speakers on whilst going downstairs to make a cuppa, it sounds like a truck is about to drive through your front room! Or at the very least a thunderstorm is raging outside!

Minor criticism aside, if you are looking for a good looking speaker system at a reasonable price, the Z3 cannot be beaten.

Great value

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Aug 12, 2004
These were a great investment! I bought them to connect to my iPod so I could have a sound system in my bedroom (and not have to have the living room stereo on really loud to be able to hear it in other rooms of the apartment)...and I'm really impressed. The sound is sharp, although I agree with the other reviewer who said that the bass can dominate a little.

They look great, but I really recommend taking the grilles of the satallites and just having the lovely brushed aluminium front. They are reassuringly sturdy and heavy and, to be honest, I use these speakers with the iPod more than I use my regular stereo at the moment.

This is a very very good price....well worthwhile getting

Speakers

These speakers are amazing! I wanted some proper sound for my laptop and these things shake the room whenever you turn the bass up. They look great and the remote thingy's quite handy. Hope this review is equally handy. These things were bargins!

Powerful, stylish and clear

These speakers are a great deal. The subwoofer is very powerful - but if you don't like too much bass, just turn it down. This isn't rocket science. You will be left with the satellites, which do a good job on their own. The sound is clear and deep, with no distortion, and is almost painfully loud at maximum volume. Things begin to fall off the shelves.
