A good multiregion player for the money that DOES play in full colour!
(5 out of 5) by Fasterthanapigeon on Feb 4, 2007 (UK)Mainly concerning the reviews below which state that this plays other region discs in black and white there's a simple option you need to change to solve this (as I had this problem at first!)
With no DVD inserted, press the display button and then go to 'setup', then 'custom'.
Next go down one to 'screen setup', and then down to where it says 'Line'. Here if you change the output to 'RGB', it should play any region of DVD in colour and NOT black and white.
This worked for me for playing region 1 DVDs here in the UK.

BLACK AND WHITE - WHY!?
(1 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jan 14, 2006I didn't even want to give this player one star because, frankly, it is utter rubbish. It plays DVDs in black and white on any TV that isn't a brand new Sony, but displays the menus in perfect colour.
THIS MAKES NO SENSE!
It was total disappointment and a waste of my time and money. I now have the choice of sending it back or buying a new TV.

(2 out of 5) by Danny Newby on Nov 11, 2004 (Birmingham)If you like black and white DVD's, you will love this DVD. Anything that is not strictly 100% UK region you will struggle to gain a colour picture. After days of research I finally chose this DVD. What a waste of time that was. AVOID!!!
