Does exactly what it says on the tin

(5 out of 5) by John Kimble on Feb 9, 2006 (N. Ireland)
For a long time I was using an aging video recorder my Playstation 2 as a DVD player and my TV together in order to let me watch and enjoy my movie collection. As you can guess this wasn't exactly a nightmare of an arrangement but it wasn't ideal.

Getting this TV for Christmas has really helped. In a way I was a bit wary of this combi as the screen was a fair bit smaller than the one I already had and I wasn't so sure if having everything contained in the one set was really what I wanted. Happily all my fears have been set aside and I can honestly say that the Bush combi is perfect for my needs.

After getting it all out of the box I found it easy to set up and get started. Tuning the channels was easy and connecting said Playstation was simple too. I recently bought a digibox which I connect via the only Scart port at the back and relocated the Playstation to the 3 pin port at the front of the TV set by simply removing the Scart adopter from the Playstation connection lead.

The remote control for the combi is easy to use and self-explanatory. It is very simple to switch between TV, video and DVD. I think the picture is great and the sound isn't to bad either.

If you find yourself in a similar situation to one I was in or if you're thinking of adding a new video or DVD player to your bedroom then consider the Bush combi and an effective and probably less expensive alternative.

All in all I would recommend this combi to anyone as a great alternative to having two or three separate units.

You Can't Buy Better!!

(5 out of 5) by Mr. Garry A. Gordon on Oct 9, 2006 (england)
Bought this TV very recently as we wanted a secound tv for upstairs as my wife was having a baby. It has great picture if you can adjust between your possibly larger flatscreen. Bonus of having the vcr to play a lot of kids videos that where not available on dvd in those early years. Just a shame it is a little bulky at the rear but for the price no complaints just a great buy!!

Excellent value for money!

(5 out of 5) by C. Godfrey on May 22, 2006 (Sunny south of England)
This arrived last week when hubby was away on business. I moved the existing combi tv/vcr from our bedroom to our son's and didn't look forward to having to set this up in its place on my own.
Thing is I'm so surprised at how easy it was! It sits on our tall chest of drawers with plenty of space around it. I just plugged it in, connected the arial into the back (which has a splitter on it for Sky etc) and started what I thought would be the arduous job of tuning it all in. It was an absolute breeze!
The instructions were very clear and simple to follow and I learnt my way around the controls in about 5 minutes. Immediately I could tape from Sky or terrestial and got it right each time.
The terrestial picture is even better quality than our previous combi (with a more prestigious name brand). The Sky picture is excellent. The VCR picture & sound quality is superior to our previous combi and even our main independent one! The DVD quality is also excellent. All in all, from unpacking to sorting it all, it took about 20 mins and that was reading the instructions included and everything works perfectly. My 4yr old could have done it and now works the remote like an expert.
To be honest, there aren't a lot of TV/VCR/DVD combis available on the market so I was a bit wary of the quality of any of the components. However, I'm glad to say I've been very impressed by this machine and would have expected and been happy to pay quite a bit more!
The casing is a little bigger than our previous one but it does also have a DVD player which the previous one didn't so that's acceptable as it's not distractingly or unattractively bigger.
It's not often I manage to buy something technical that actually does what it says on the box. This is top of my list of things that does! Excellent value for money. Great for a bedroom or a caravan etc.
Oh and the other thing is the access on the front. I'm not a techie but I have a digital camera and a digital camcorder with audio/video leads that I could only ever use with our living room high spec TV. This model has the facility at the front to easily connect up and view both. And we can connect headphones too for private viewing/listening. If you're after a compact TV/VCR/DVD combi, get this...you won't be disappointed!
I'd never bought Bush before but this makes me more interested in their larger products. Well done Bush, you've made me cross off all my boxes!

My experience differs. Considerably.

(1 out of 5) by Kevin Pork on Jun 15, 2007 (London)
Perhaps the one I bought was a duff one; otherwise I can't account for the glowing praise offered by my fellow reviewers. My Bush Combi's DVD facility jumps, sticks, skips, rejects...all but screams abuse at me. Which I'm driven to do to it, all too often. The VCR facility is delicate to the point of anaemia: It'll only work when it feels up to it.

And all these joys only really got into their stride two days after the guarantee had run out.

To my mind, it's a heap of junk.

it is an extremely good tv ,both me and my brother have one. the picture and sound is amazing but the only downfall o it is the fact that after a couple of months the dvd player starts skipping on brand new dvds
