Mac Users Beware!

(2 out of 5) by Mr. M. Harrington on May 14, 2005 (Somerset uk)
I bought this product thinking it would be a a cheeper solution than buying apple's own airport card for my eMac and iBook.
How I wish I had stuck to apple's trusty products, I have had no end of problems with this device.
Even after updating the latest drivers which incidentally weren't even available from D-links own web-site (D-link being no help whatsoever when e-mailed on this problem) this device still on occasions causes my computer to freeze and display the restart screen, and will regularly prevent the computer from going to sleep properly, resulting in yet another re-start.
I can't comment on the reliability of this device for pc users (so please don't say this review wasn't helpful because of that) but if you're a mac user like me than leave this one well alone!

OUCH!

Powerbook 15" 1ghz MAC OS 10.3.2 -712 RAM
Installed the drivers that came with this product all seemed ok untill i noticed a window was missing in the control panel interface where you set-up your configuaration.. I then proceeded to uninstall which is a bugger because you have to do some stuff in the TERMINAL which I dont like the idea of. Anyway finally got it working with plenty of crashes on start -up and even after I booted and plugged in CRASH! did actually work a few times but not stable at all at least at the moment. Not advised if your running same set-up as me, I wont try it on mt Desktop mac! Linked to a freind with hes airport peer to peer and worked fine.. But overall caused my mac to crash and has messed with the boot up time.

For Mac users!

(3 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jan 20, 2006
Although this products reception etc. isn't that good, you do get what you pay for, and for this price, it ain't that bad. A note for mac users.... there are many BEWARE DONT BUY messages here but i've had no probs as long as i eject the device properly! Maybe i'm just lucky..... but this worked on my friends mac as well. Good product!

Mac users- stay away from this item!!

(1 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Nov 1, 2005
I just returned to this website to check the refund policy because it's just not working for me. The title 'Mac users beware' caught my eye in the reviews section, and do I wish I had read that before purchasing it! The guy wrote exactly what has been happening to me- my mac frequently crashes/asks me to restart my comp- that VERY RARELY happens any other time. It also looses signal within minutes of connecting- v frustrating. I DO NOT recommend this to any Mac users- might be different for PC users though.
