SPEAKA GENARATIONA

Dec 9, 2003 - By Yushaf El-Alonoie (Baghdad, Iraq)

What a set of speakers! For around £40, you get 1000 watts of power! Fantastic! When you turn the bass right up, the room shudders, as if you are in a real concert. It is unmatched at this price when playing dvds and music, I watched the original Matrix using them, and the speakers delivered and output out of this world.
If you have £40 to blow, and you need some sound, then these are the answer. I totally reccommend this brilliant product.

For the money-superb!

Mar 17, 2004 - By D.Buxton (Bradford, England)

Bought these speakers based upon the only other review on here, and after looking at the Labtec website. I'm basing everything i put here on value for money.

The build quality of the satellites and the woofer especially is excellent, they put some higher priced sets to shame to be frank (I do know: Ive been around all the usual shops having a nosey at various brands/models). There's also a reassuring heft to the units. But one thing im not so keen on in this criteria is the satellite stands, at higher volumes, or bassy volumes they tend to move slightly, which is a bit disconcerting and can put you off whatever you're doing.

Now to sound quality, its good. nuff said really, for a set of speakers that cost £100 it would be good, for a set costing less than £40, its excellent, trust me on this, i listen to anything from Metallica, to N.W.A, to the Commodores, and the speakers cover from bass to high range very well.

Aesthetically, they're subtle and pretty un-assuming really, except for the labtec badge on the front (if this had've been on the side or back i would have preferred it) but this is only a very slight minus, afterall, who buys speakers for where the brand-badge is?

The only thing i don't like about this set is the volume and bass controls are on the side of the subwoofer. This doesn't make sense to me, as the subwoofer is going to be placed on the floor, and as you don't get a remote control with them, its a real pain to change the volume/bass, especially if you need to do so quickly (if someone walks in the room, or the phone rings) but thats my only winge, well worth the money, and more.

This Is A Must Have

May 16, 2004 - By Amazon Customer

I bought this set from amzon as a cheap alternitave to another brand. Dont be mistake the price of these speakers means very little.

the bass cuts through you and the floorboards perfectly whilst the high range noises are picked out by the sattelites.

I prefer to have my subwoofer on the floor. This is where my quibble comes in as the bass and volume control is located on the sub box.

The kit is very aesthetically pleasing. Just make sure you have space to put all this stuff because i dont so at the moment i have a cramped desktop.

I love them youll love them...now buy them.

Excellant

Jul 22, 2004 - By Amazon Customer

Bought to match with Audigy 2 ZS soundcard. The surround sound produced by these speakers (with my soundcard), considering their cost, is really very impressive. Neighbours love it !!!! The lowest price I could find in the UK (Incl. postage). They look good too. Recommended.
