Decided on the Yamada 5520 DVD player to replace my malfuntioning Zenix player and was very surprised at the overall performance of the 5520.
Picture quality was excellent. It has various controls to adjust sharpness contrast and gamma settings, as well as variable sound controls.
The machine is multi-play PAL/NTSC,plays VCD's SVCD's MPEGS and also views JPEG's.
Ordered on the Sunday, received on the Wednesday morning.
this cannot be beat for value.

You can't beat it for the value
Not being a home-entertainment freak (the kind of person whose nose must bleed every time a gun shoots on their telly) but never the less wanting to move into the digital age and get a DVD player, I wasn't keen on spending too much. But, the old dilemma remained- I didn't want to get one on the cheap only to regret it later because of poor quality.
Happily, I came accross the Yamada 5520, which seemed to boast all the features of the more expensive players. I only have a vague idea what a PAL-NTSC converter does, along with DTS, aspect ratios, 10 bit video decoding, 5.1 channel output and the like, but I do know that only the more expensive players have them, or at least the more expensive players...and the Yamada. I wasn't disapointed when it arrived either- a sleek, modern and slim-line exterior encased a machine which boasted a perfect sharp picture and stunning sound. The only other player that I can really compare it to, though, is a Sony that's 3 times the price, and all I can say is I wouldn't swap.
