A fantastic phone

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Oct 8, 2003
Received this phone the other day and now I've had a chance to have a proper play with it, I though I'd share me thoughts.
What a fantastic phone this is. Call quality is excellent, the phone is very neat and compact, but the buttons are still a sensible size. Battery life has proved to be excellent too. After the initial charge, the battery is still showing half full after 2 whole days, with a fair amount of usage as well. And the full answerphone facilities are all accessed from the handset directly, not from the base unit...BRILLIANT. I have walked all around the house, and the call quality didnt fallter at all, even outside the house, with two internal walls and one external wall between the base unit and handset. Only one small niggle, the characters used on the display are not the best that could have been used. But overall this is a very competant phone package, and at a great price. Far better than some more expensive units I have tried in the past. Two handsets, base units, and an answerphone, at a price cheaper than anywhere else I could find on the highstreet and on the internet. THOROUGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!

Good, but not perfect

(4 out of 5) by P. Lymn on Dec 30, 2003 (Bristol, UK)
Good things:

- Great quality sound and feel
- Small and lightweight
- Uses standard AAA rechargable batteries that are cheap and easy to replace when inevitably the supplied ones reach the end of their useful life

Niggles:

- Display is not backlit making it difficult to use in low light conditions
- No easy to see indicator that an answer machine message has been received (i.e. the tape symbol flashes on the phone's LCD screen)
- Hard to remember key strokes to do simple things like delete answer machine messages etc.
- The ring tones are very tinny and annoying

Disappointing

(1 out of 5) by J. Jones on Jan 9, 2004 (Manchester England)
Not what I expected from Panasonic, the instruction book is very hard to understand and programming the handsets very difficult, the handsets are not comfortable for holding, there isn't any back light on the handsets and no audible beep when you have a message.Back to the drawing board Panasonic.

Used two for 8 months

(1 out of 5) by David on Oct 19, 2004 (England)
The instructions are absolutely awful, Have had to get help from their helpline repeatedly. Poor or not existant english. Just tech speak and numbers. The phone volume was the worst I have ever experienced. It has now broken completely and I recommend you to buy another brand. Size too small for an adult male hand, miserable little screen with hard to read figures. Who do they think they are kidding. Think again my friends!!
