What a dissapointment, the headphones that is. The quoted delivery time was 4-6 weeks and after 4 weeks the headphones duly arrived.

I wanted a basic pair of headphones, for listening to the tv with whilst young children slept in a noise carrying house or whilst my other half is on the phone i.e. my demands were not for hi-fi quality sound, just simple clear sound. The general background hiss was apparent from the offset, no matter where the transmitter went. What a dissapointment from Sony, a brand I had expected so much more from.

So back in the box they will go to test the Amazon refund policy. The Sennheiser RS45 appears to offer much more for the same money and the reviews are better; so I'll try these next.

I bought these for my eleven year old daughter so that she could enjoy her music with greater freedom. What a success! They produce great sound and are very easy to use. She isn't tied to the CD player and the rest of the family can get on with their own activites in peace. The only criticism I can give is that they are on the large side compared to most headphones available today.

Sound quality is good enough but disappointed with the level of background hiss when no audio present. I have an old pair of JVC infra-red cordless headphones that have only the faintest background hiss so why could not Sony do likewise? I suppose I would say they are alright for the price but it might be best to try first if you can to avoid similar disappoinment.

Couldnt of asked for a better product for that price. A well Recomended item.

Having read the reviews I was a little apprehensive about these headphones, especialy the 'hissing', but because I had a Sony TV and rated Sony I gave them a try. I found them good, the 'hissing' was reduce to acceptable levels by reducing the volume on the headphones and using the tv volume control.
