Great for the value!!

This microphone is a simple yet effective device! Unlike other mics it doesnt sound un-proffesional and doesnt look like a shody piece of plastic! Its very modern looking! It is also at a great price! The reason its not 5 stars is because it doesn't have a more complex control on it e.g. volume control. But otherwise I recommend the product to everyone!

Does what it says on the box

Set up is simple. Just plug the pink plug from the mic into the pink socket on your computer. It works. Nothing else to do. You might need to fiddle with the mic volume (from within Control Panel) to get best sound. I use mine for Skype and speach-to-text and it works well.

Good for the price

This is an extremely good piece of gear for value. Good for VoIP and general voice recording. Windows XP and newer Office versions has built-in speech recognition so you can use your mic to dictate stuff - very cool. Recommended.

The less said the better!

I have no words to describe how bad this microphone is, the instructions are abominable and the general setup is to be desired! after finally working the microphone sheared off the stand and the button fell off! Labtec should be ashamed of making such a abismal product.

Awful!

(1 out of 5) by R. Turner on Nov 13, 2005
My advice with this mic is - beware! Even with the gain and volume on full I can barely hear anything said into this microphone. It only picks up sound if you make an extremely loud noise, which is just played back as a mess of loud sound. A real let down.
