I bought a full Sony seperates system and after just 16 months the amplifier has become defective. Contacted Sony and explained that I bought my entire system Sony under the impression I was buying quality and that they should repair it for free. They refused. The amp had only been used for an average of an hour per week max.

In conclusion, the amp itself always sounded good (not outstanding) but the build quality is very poor and their customer service is pathetic.

This amp is perfect for anyone who has decided to build thier first seperates system. It may be described as an entry amp, but its power is more than enough for any household, people may argue that with a higher power amp comes better quality, but the range of this amp is very good, clear trebble to thumping bass and good midrange, its all there. The main reason that i have only give it 4 stars is that it only has 2 speaker channels and no dolby 5.1 which is understandable for the price.If you are looking first amp, go for this one, you wont get any better for the price.

I bought this amp about 4 years ago from Amazon - I use it all day, every day and it's still as good as new. The tonal quality is superb. It has amazing power - I have never turned the knob above half way round, even when I want to have really loud music. Nice positive feedback on source selection dial too. I have it connected to a Sony Minidisc deck and Sony CD deck. The remote for this amp allows basic fuction control on these other decks. I remember reading a review in What Hi-Fi magazine and this amp got 5 stars.

I have this amp powering speakers in all rooms of my house. The sound quality is great and the amp is really easy to use.

I have just purchased this Amp to replace my 23 year old Sony amp and what a difference. Great sound when hooked up to new speakers with great remote control capabilities. And very good value at the price here in Dublin. If you want a no nonsense decent amp for your home hi fi this is the one for you. Just hope it lasts as long as my previous one !!!!!!!
