BT ADSL Boroadband Microfilter

(5 out of 5) by Jon Bob on Nov 26, 2008 (Hertfordshire)
I ordered this via Addonsworld and it arrived within 3-4 days. It is a Microfilter with a tail and sockets for both a telephone cable and modem; the one I recieved was branded as made by BT which I have used to plug my phone into. As a broadband virgin I have little experience of what to expect from this product but three weeks in it seems to work fine and there is no extra noise on my telephone line. I purchased it to use with a Netgear DG834G 54Mbps Wireless ADSL2+ Modem Firewall Router with 4-port 10/100 switch; this came with its own microfilter in the box and so far I have had no connection or service problems (broadband via Plusnet).

Approach with caution

(2 out of 5) by T. Pilgrim on Aug 19, 2004
We got 3 of these filters free with our AOL broadband connection. if they weren't free i would of sent them back, they seperate the 2 different lines fine there is no problem using the internet. The problem arises when u try to use the phone line, there is absolutly no filtering of the white noise so all the time that u are on the phone there is a fuzzy hissing sound in the background.

The above illustration is NOT the actual one you get. Other than that it is great.

Seems to have sorted out problems with our broadband

(5 out of 5) by C. ROBERTS on Nov 24, 2008
We had a problems with our broadband - dropping andslow speeds - and bought a pair of these on the off-chance that they might improve things. Certainly wasn't holding my breath - but now 10 days after plugging in, they seem to have made a huge difference. Don't think internet has dropped at all since installed. Worth a go for the price if having similar problems
