These are pretty nifty little speakers!

These stylish silver wireless speakers are easy to use, and offer good sound quality at a reasonable price. You can listen to your favourite music, news and even keep up with the soaps whilst making a brew ~ the transmitter will link up to any equipment that has either a pair of auxiliary outputs or a headphone socket. You can place the speakers almost anywhere in the house or garden, I found the sound quality was good, even when transmitting through two interior walls and one external wall. The speakers are very lightweight and therefore easy to move and position around the house or garden. Both speakers have volume and bass controls with an on/off switch on the front for ease of use, you also get an Auxiliary connecting cable as-well as a stereo 3.5mm phone-jack to stereo 3.5mm phone-jack. Charging takes 12 hours, which equates to 10 hours playing time - only one power adapter is supplied, so charging both units could take 24 hours for the first charge. Successive charging takes only 6 hours per unit. Rechargeable batteries are not included.

Digital radio on the cheap

(4 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Mar 29, 2004
These work like a dream. However, be warned that the speakers each take 6 AA batteries with a predicted lifespan of 18 hours - rechargeables might be in order. The transmitter has to be plugged in and comes with an AC/DC adaptor. The speakers can be plugged in, but you have to find a suitable AC/DC adaptor for each of them.

The transmitter is very small and unobtrusive, and I don't have any reception black spots (5 rooms and a small garden). The speakers look like oversized PC speakers and have an on/off switch, volume, and bass controls. The sound is very clear, and fairly powerful too.

I bought these as a cheap alternative to a digital radio - I don't care about the supposed "digital clarity" of the sound (FM is fine for me) but was interested in the wider choice of stations. I haven't been disappointed: BBC 6 Music and XFM are a breath of fresh air. I can also connect the transmitter to my Hi-Fi or to my computer for MP3s or internet radio.

If you're thinking about a digital radio, and have Sky or Freeview, I'd strongly recommend these instead.

A Convert

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Oct 5, 2003
I bought these after a recomendation. Sound is good, range is fair, concept is brilliant ! Plug into a Hi Fi or other sound source and I can take my music into the garden or elsewhere with me. Used right through the BBQ season bringing music into the garden with no need for wires. Now I am using them in my office and will probabley buy another set next spring ready for the garden again.

Doesn't do what is says on the tin

(1 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Nov 11, 2004
I've received my set of these speakers and I'm very dissappointed. There is a background hiss when they are on (even when optimally tuned). The wireless reception automatically enters into a powersave mode when there isn't any sound to be transmitted. This would be a good thing but when the computer makes a warning beep or any other little sound, the speakers come back to life with a loud pop or bang (not the actual sound it is meant to play). It's so bad that I've had to turn the speakers off.

I've emailed the vendor but have had no reply. My advice is to stay well clear of these.

Music while I scrub :)

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Dec 18, 2004
I have recently purchased these through the Withandwithoutwires seller and am releved to find them just what I was looking for. I wanted some wireless speakers to use in areas of the house not covered by my hifi's, such as the kitchen, garden and bathroom. These are great for this purpose, I haven't yet discovered the limitations of range as they work all over my house & garden. To be able to sit in my bath and listen to music is great and I'm glad I bought these. Battery life isn't great, but these baby's push out quite a bit of volume! The only other wireless speakers I have seen retail for £100, so these are a bargain! Delivery was good, just 3 days from order.
