Format Supported: DVD-Video, VCD, SVCD, XVCD, XSVCD, MP3CD (all bit rates), WMACD (all bit rates), Fuji film CD, Kodak PhotoCD, JPEGCD, CDDA. (all accepted by the player)
This DVD player supports multi-region discs, I have tried all the different regions.
So far have not experienced any problems, seems to be working perfect especially by supporting the DVD+R format. Operation seems to be very quiet while playing any disc and the loading times are very fast. As soon as you insert the disc it will boot up straight away without any delays.
The DVD player has very nice and simple menu and the OSD (on screen display) is very detailed and can be fully customised to display what you want.
So far all the software that I have used to make DVD movies seemed to be accepted by the player without any problems. The DVDs played back perfectly with crystal quality picture and an equally impressive audio output.
Terrific DVD player from Pioneer
and sound quality at this price. What I found particularly
useful about this player is one can fine tune the picture quality to one’s particular taste. A great player, at an even more great price. No way would you get one at this price on the
High Street. Go on buy one now you’ll be pleased you did!
Top Notch
Great player, great price, you'd be a fool not to buy. Oh, and the great name of Pioneer at this price! I've seen VCRs more expensive by crappy makes!

Superb value for money
The most important features for me were
*Multi-region out of the box, no hacks to fiddle about with.
*Picture-Excellent
*Sound-More than excellent, rigged up to my 5.1 system it's a joy!
Set-up is dead easy using the remote, sound is connected to my Surround amp via a digital co-axial, picture via s-vhs to scart.
The first thing I checked was the compatibility of disc's, no problem with R1, R4 (Finding Nemo) or dvd-r's (which my Sammy 709 would spit out!)
All in all I'm one very happy movie fan!
(Oh and here's the math, my Sammy 709 cost me £250 nearly 5 years ago, this far superior machine cost me £160 LESS!!
that's the cost of 10 DVDs!!!)
