WOW!!!

Ok just to make it clear to you from the start : I dont know any technical details or anything about graphics cards. Im just going to tell you what I have experienced with this card.

My previous card was a GeForce2 64mb and could run most games at low detail graphics. It struggled in games like BF1942 that had large scale environments and loads of things happening at once. So I got this card. And it was the right choice.

I have never installed a graphics card before and I followed the instructions and it was really easy to install. However i advise you that before you buy it, check that you have an AGP slot on your motherboard, because my friend bought this card and then realised that it wouldnt fit.

I cant really compare this card to any others of the same specs but I run all of my games at resolutions of 1280x960 or 1280x1024 which is extremely high , and I have the highest detail of graphics on. Now im not talking about games such as Counter-Strike that arent every demanding. Im talking about PlanetSide, BF1942, GTA3, and C&C Generals. I have the highest detail and in many cases the highest resolution and it works without a glitch. I cant really say more than that. I have had no problems at all with this card.

The only reason that it did not get 5 stars from me was that I dont think that I am experienced enough in this field to give that kind of advice. The card has my vote :)

Misnamed Ultra Card ?

(2 out of 5) by Jason Garbutt on Aug 4, 2003 (Romford - UK)
Based on Nvidia's 5600 GPU you would expect re3asonable performance at this rpice. But dont let the 'Ultra' tag fool you... this card is the bog standard FX5600 chip running at a poor 6.4gb/sec as opposed to the 11.8gb/sec of the real Ultra chip. AGP8x supoort is very misleading too as with my Gigabyte GA-8SQ800 motherboard the card refused to budge from AGP4X.

Poor software bundle (Drivers & WinDVD) makes this an expensive and underperforming card.
