Whats Missing ?

(1 out of 5) by Brian Carson on Apr 23, 2004 (London UK)
I own Six freeview units and without a doubt the unit that was thebiggest let down is the Panasonic TUCT20 and even although lots ofOwners have contacted Panasonic they have refused to do a software Updateto solve the problem that should have been solved before they sold theUnit.
Pace were able to Update their unit but Panasonic just cannot bebothered.
The Panasonic does not have any Timer so this means that you are Stuck toonly Recording one Channel when you are out Unlike most other units thathave between six to eight event Timers.
The Sagem ITD602 { which I also own } is £ 30 Cheaper and has aProper six event Timer and has the Software that will cope with the sevenday program Guide when it comes into Operation later this Year.
Even if the two units were priced the same the Sagem has two Scarts andeven a Digital Sound output and would be a better buy and at £ 30 Cheaperyou just cant lose.
Just in case you are wondering why I own different units the reason issimple - I am forced to buy from different Companies so that the unitsremote control does not clash with each other.

Panasonic (Free to view)

(4 out of 5) by Joanne on Oct 3, 2003 (Blackpool)
I bought the Free to view box as a gift for my mother after checking she was able to use the box in her area. I believe through research that the freeview channels are expected to increase rapidly over the next few years. My mother is impressed with the channels available and the set up was easy enough for her to complete without help. The box itself is half the size of her video player taking up little space and looks good.

(4 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Apr 19, 2003
This freeview box is very small and good looking! Comes with an easy to use remote control and a useful instructions! The channels have something for everyone and new ones are coming! Since i got the box i have had 2 new channels "ukBrightideas" and "FTN" which are quite good! Has sky sports news which is what i got it for!, Ukhistory Sky travel, all the bbc's, some music channels, Bid-up tv which is awesome and more channels including the radio channels. Bought this because i want more than 5 channels yet dont want to pay out a fortune for sky and installation costs!
