The picture quality is excellent. Sometimes you may need to fiddle with the settings to get the best result, but the automatic settings always give acceptable shots.
The controls are great, I find them easy to use and almost immediate to get used to. My favourite is the Burst Shooting button, it lets you take several pictures at once. It takes a little time to keep them in memory afterwards, but you are more likely to have 'the' perfect picture registered!
Another good feature is the Easy mode (represented by a heart). Set your camera in this mode, and don't think about anything else! You can let a novice press the shutter without worries.
Battery life is good on a set of 2000 mAh batteries that I got with the Hama Delta charger I bought separately.
The size is quite small, I bought a soft Canon carrying case so that I could drop it into my pocket. There are smaller cameras around though.
On the downside, I find the Macro mode quite unsatisfying. If you use the zoom to its maximum, you need to be at least 50cm away from the subject for the camera to focus properly! I really wish there was a manual focus.
Another point is the automatic white balance setting, it produced yellow-cast indoors pictures at a wedding when I turned the flash off. Check the pictures on the LCD to make sure that the white balance is correct, and you will be fine.
All in all, I am very pleased with my purchase, specially for the quality of the shots at this price point (I suppose the Leika lens takes the praise here.)
Highly recommended.
