These are the cheapest headphones on the site. They work just fine. A little transmitter connects to a mains supply and the transmitter connects to an audio source, then sends infra red signals to your headphones. If you walk out of range of the transmitter, you get a loud static sound. I'm not sure about the battery life of these, it takes 2 AAA batteries. I've been listening for 5 hours so far.
Excellent headphones
The quality of reception on these is great - I have found that they cover a wider range than quoted in the manual (7m) with no distortion until you really move out of sight of the transmitter. Everything you need is in the box - requiring very little setting up. They are very light to wear.
Pump Up The Volume
Okay, so they're only twenty quid, but I was expecting a little more in the way of oomph. My iPod earphones (ie. the standard ones you get with it) are considerably more powerful than these. Also, the background hiss is audible and irritating. These are alright for watching television I suppose, but any music fan who appreciates being able to crank it up would be best advised to avoid.
Music!
These are my first pair of cordless headphones, and I am very pleased.
One thing is that you have to have the litle receptor box higher than you are.
Other than that, the sound is excellent.
Well worth the money...
I was a little dubious as to how good these headphones would be, but I really didn't want to spend too much on them considering their only use was going to be watching DVDs in bed whilst my girlfriend slept!
I was very pleasantly surprised by what I got. The transmitter is small and unobtrusive, the sound quality has been perfect for watching TV, and who can argue with the price (especially when you compare with similar products!)?
I was initially worried that moving my head about might cause some noise or static, but you really have to be WELL out of the range of the transmitter to even start hearing anything unwanted.
The headphones are comfortable enough. They're not the 'fitted' type that fully encase your ears (and usually give you very sore ears after 20 minutes!). They are 'flat', and although this probably leads to a little more escaping sound than some, it really hasn't affected what I use them for.
Also, the battery life is good. I used them for at least an hour every night for four weeks before they started to go.
Overall, I've been very impressed with this product.
