This microphone was a god send to me, well worth the money i had purchased it for, the headset itself is easily customizable with the provided clip ons colours, very easy to change and very secure (no headphone colours dropping off while you are using it), sound quality is overall very good, helps with telling distances in online games such as Counter Strike, near on perfect microphone which does well with all boost gain features and settings.
The provided volume and mute adjust are very simple, easy to use and accurate, no sudden jumps in volume...
I am very pleased with this product, one thing I often dont like about headsets is they tend to hurt my ears and head eventually but this one is very soft and easily attachable to you 'ead!
If you need a microphone or a headset, buy this, you'll never need to think about communication problems again.
not so good for me
Unfortunately when buying online, you cant get a feel for what your buying, and for this product, it was a huge let down. Im 5"10 male and average build, with a normal size noggin and this just doesnt sit comfortably on my head. It doesnt sit on the back of your neck, it attempts to hug the back of your head, but for me, it just wont fit. So it slips downwards and there is no way to adjust. The lead it quite heavy so after a while my ears ached somewhat and I had to constantly keep pushing it back up.
The cord splits at the end, one end goes into my sound card and the other into the microphone slot. Unfortunately as I have a desktop volume controller on my desk, I cannot put the speaker part into it, and therefore, have to put the volume controller under the desk, which makes adjusting the sound a bit of a pain when you like to swap from voice chat to music every so often (yeah I know theres volume control on the lead, but it couldnt change the sound as much as I needed).
So really, it was a huge disapointment, my seperate microphone and earbuds worked so much better. I guess this might be the same for a lot of headsets, but this is my experience with this one.
Hope that helps people buy the right headset for you. If I did it again, I would definately go for something a bit more expensive, its very important to feel confortable wearing these things.
Great headphones with just a few snags
These headphones are certainly a worthwhile buy for anybody in need of a pair. They sit very comfortably on top of your ears, allowing the actual earpieces to press gently against your ears, making for a comfortable fit.
The mic is extremely versatile as the stem of the mic is made of a very flexible ribbed material which allows it to be bent almost any-which way you feel most happy with. Because of the counterbalance of the mic at the front, the headphones generally don't (in my experience at least) tend to slip down at the back of your neck which I have had experience with among other headphones in the past, which were poorly designed - and I haven't exactly got the biggest head in the world, so I wouldn't imagine there would be too many people with problems.
The sound leakage is average. As long as you don't have the headphones at ear-splittingly loud volume, and hold them at arms length away from yourself, noise IS audible, but pretty quiet, which is what I have come to expect from a lot of headphones. If there was one thing I would change about the headphones it would be to reduce the leakage - but honestly it's not that much of a problem as long as you're not a big fan of death metal music.
The headset is ideal for a wide variety of uses. The connectors are two simple jacks, one for the headphones and one for the mic, ports for which can be found on pretty much all PCs and Laptops in one place or another (usually at the front). And they even jack into your TV. The huge lead means you can sit wherever you like and it's not a problem, but Logitech are nice enough to tie it up beforehand for you with one of those nice little twisty bits of wire which means if you're not intent on ever using the extreme length, it wont get in the way, and you can just leave it tied up.
The interchangable colours of the side of the headset are pretty cool, but to be honest you're only going to really be using one set - your favourite - and then that's done and you're not going to touch the other ones ever again. They do come with a neat little tool for prising the current colour out of it's socket, and then you can snap a new one in place. You can even mix and match colours if you really want to, but it does feel like the interchangable colours were something thrown together at the last minute to try and justify the price of these pretty simplistic headphones. Don't get me wrong, they are great headphones, but the design is really simple and essentially just a single strip of plastic which binds the two earphones together with a microphone attached on the end - that's it.
But don't let that put you off, these headphones are very nice, comfortable and... great! For chatting on the internet, listening to music, watching TV, or if you just want to look like you're an important businessman while you're sitting on the family computer - give them a try.
Near perfect for my needs.
This is a fantastic product and is fully recommended to anyone with the slightest interest things like multiplayer gaming, chatting to people etc
I found the product to be incredibly comfortable throughout short and long term use, and the fact that it looks really cool and is small and subtle is a nice bonus for when I use my webcam in conjunction with it. :)
The sound quality isn't incredible but I find it good enough to use to listen to music unless you're obsessive about everything sounding crystal clear, and as mentioned by another reviewer if you have a speaker system and are allowed to make noise you will probably prefer to use that over the headset.
The -only- gripe I have about this is that that back of the headset isn't adjustable, now personally this isn't a problem as it hugs my head quite well and the hooking over my ears makes it secure but I feel that it's not a "one size fits all" sort of thing and some people may find it uncomfortable and will have to move it around every now and then to make sure it's in position.
Overall a nicely designed thing and suits everything I desire it for, if it werent for my last point this would easily have gotten 5/5 Stars!
great sound for the price but,,,
as you can see the statements above, it is a nice and neat products for the price. i wasn't big fun of logitec (product quality is solid but i don't particularly like the design), but tried to see it.
sound quality is good (please do not expect BOSE sound quality:-) , well, better than i expacted. however, the reason that i bought this set was for skype (VOIP) use. after a while, people started saying they cannont really hear what i was saying. and now i need to put my mouth just right next to microphone (and still, they cannot hear as good as it should). and now i need to buy another one :-(
from my experience, if you are heavy user of skype (or any VOIP), i would say it's better look around elsewhere, even though it's quite reasonably priced.
