Not only a pretty face this system packs some punch. I've owned many a hifi and i'm not lying when i say none of them measure up to this baby. For the money its brilliant i've payed up to 250 pound for systems which don't come close. I think for this money to find a system of this calliber would take a long hard Thorough search. 99 quid bargain of the century.
Very impressive little system
This system is a tribute to Philips - it's built solidly and sounds great (this coming from an ex sound engineer is a compliment indeed)! For its size, it packs a truly impressive punch. Even with the Dynamic Bass Boost on and the volume all the way up there is very little distortion. Clearly a lot of thought has gone into the design (how does that much bass come out of speakers that small?) Also, it's easy to tune the radio presets, which are preserved if switched off at the wall, and the remote is nicely sealed against dirt ingress - perfect for a kitchen. My only gripe would be that it's not possible to set your own EQ settings, instead relying on the presets OPTIMAL, CLASSIC, JAZZ, ROCK - which are only accessible through the remote. Aside from that, this system has far exceeded my expectations and I would not hesitate to recommend it to others.
So good for the money!
When the old boom box we had in our kitchen died I got this as a replacement. For seventy quid I didn't expect much but this system is excellent. It sounds great and while it looks a bit unusual, I like that too. The speakers and system unit are made of an attractive, hard and highly polished plastic. All the controls and switches have a quality feel to them. I have a hi-fi separates system which is better than this ... but not much! A bargain, don't think twice at this price.
philips mc320 micro system
I bought a second hand system for £49 after reading the other reviews and how good the system was rated. All i can say is that they a right. This system is small, stylish and very powerfull. The sound quality is well up there with some £300 systems. The bass is stunning and with the bass boost and surround on it fills the room even on a low volume. If you are looking for a sound system that is cheap but still one of quality then look no further.
what a cutie
I expected it to be much smaller but it is a good size, weighs quite a bit, feels really solid. Everything is very well thought out, and it is really very beautiful. Even the way it opens up to accept the CD is gorgeous, very 70's sci-fi. And then I turned it on and turned it up and it is on par with my expensive seperates system, it doesn't distort and really can go louder than I would probably ever play it...I am seriously thinking of buying one for the kitchen and one for my living room too, this really is an absolute bargain and I will recommend this to everyone.
