This surge protector gave its life for my computer last week when a bolt of lightning hit my tv areal and went straight into the surgemaster, it then instantly went bang and stopped the electricity from going into my tv card, i then rang up belkin and they send me a brand new surgemaster ABSOLUTLY FREE!!! it also helps to stop surges and spikes from my AC source going into my equipment, this surgemaster cleans up the current so your equipment has a longer life, this surge protector stopped my house from burning down and probably saved my life.

These surge protectors are outstanding. Here in Skye, Scotland, many unprotected users lose computers every year. However these Belkin devices have proved themselves very effective many times.
The top-of-the-range Belkin units are worth paying for. The lower products do work, but tend to die in the line of duty. (Although Belkin do offer outstanding customer service and will supply replacements for failed kit.)
Don't just think mains. If you are using a modem, then the phone line is the greatest risk to your computer, so make sure you use the phone line protection sockets on this device.
Tip: if you use an internal modem (that is, one fitted inside the PC), then you are asking for trouble. An old-fashioned external modem acts as an extra line of defence against lightning strike, and gives better performance and reliability too.
