The F25 is very compact. It's so easy to take into another room. I was disappointed that it had no scart connector on the unit itself, but it doesn't seem to make a difference in the playback quality. It seems to play nearly all formats and makes a good CD music player. It's very quiet too. The remote control can be set to be used for any TV so you can change volume and turn a TV on and off. It comes with a stand so that you can have it horizontal or vertical or even hang it on the wall. The design of the stand is fairly rugged despite being made of plastic.

The remote is fairly standard for a Sony product and easy to use. The on-screen display is small and the various icons take getting used to. Some are very obvious but others are not. You can do various nifty things such as repeat sequences from positions A to B (depending on the disk).

Overall it is similar to the 405 and the mechanisms are the same quality, but in a more compact form.

The price has dropped since release and you can get a good multi-region unit in the high street. Multi-region is enabled by software I believe.
