6 albums on one minidisc!

(5 out of 5) by Mr. M. P. Dean on Sep

What can I say? It's brilliant. It's got all the features of the 10th anniversary model, but with extended battery life. It's so easy to upload a CD onto a minidisc with use of the software, the only annoying thing about it mind, is that the CD is saved onto the hard drive, which can lead to a serious blockage. This is my first minidisc player, but my brother had one, and mine is just so much faster than his! The sound quality isn't as good in LP4 mode as the normal setting but then you can fit 6 albums onto one minidisc, so I'm not complaining.
The delivery was excellent and I got it a day earlier than Amazon had told me, so I was quite chuffed :-)
All in all a top quality minidisc player, for less than the high street price!

QUALITY PRODUCT!!

The first thing you realise on opening the box of the MZN-910 is that you have spent your money very wisely. The player looks superb - small yet powerful. Ok so the headphones do need upgrading because they aren't the best of quality but that's just a minor detail. The sonic stage software is top spec but you do feel a bit restricted when using it. A track can only be checked out from your computer three times but you can check in a checked out track. However, no home recorded tracks can be checked into your PC, tracks can only be checked in if they have been checked out from your PC.
The features that the MD player has go on for ever, the eqauliser settings are a brilliant feature, meaning that you can change the feeling of the music to suit.
Battery life is simply incredible. A three hour charge can last for well over three days of constant playing (when using LP2)
What about buying the MZN10? Well, apart from the MZN10 having a magnesium shell rather than aluminium and being marginally smaller, there's next to no difference between the two models apart from the price, I couldn't justify spending £25 more for just a magnesium shell.
Get it and be as content with life as Ghandi was.

The best buy I ever made!

(5 out of 5) by Doros Venezis on Dec

Its almost a week that i bought the MZ-910 and Im still anxious to come back home and record new mini disks and create new compilations of my tons of music in CDs, Mp3s etc thatI have in my house. I have checked all the options available for portable music products. CD players, MP3 players, portable hard disks etc. I was lucky that I also looked up the mini disk option. Is the best!
The quality of the machine itself its excellent (besides being totaly stylish and compact!). The quality of the music recorded, is even better! Even in the LP4 mode, which records the "lowest" possiple quality and the maximum song capacity ( I recorded about 70+ on a single disk!) the sound its great. I am a musician so I can tell the details on a bad or average recording, and I am definite that even the LP4 mode is almost as good as a CD sound.
The only drawback that I can think about the MZ-910 is its average (but not bad) earphones that are provided with the MD. But these are easily replaced if someone is looking for an even beter performance.
In simple words...
Battery life.....unbelievable! More than 50 Hours! I guess that quite good!!!!
Fuctionality of the machine.... Detailed but not comfusing. Althought there are many operating buttons, it takes no more that a few minutes to learn their purpose, and believe me everyone of them is placed there to make the machine even more fuctional.
When I bought the product, I saw a big (and guite comfusing manual of instructions)....After about one hour, I already recorded my first MD.
Sonic stage software.... This suporting product is kind of slow, and -a bit- difficult to use, but its realy helpful to record, erase, change postions and renames songs on the MD. If you are a bit patient, you will master it very soon!
Conclusion.... I am a music lover and a maniac with high technology equipment. So far, the MZ-910 is the best product that I owned. Your money will be well spend.... Believe me!

Watch out for buying spares

The rest of the reviews of this minidisc player are fairly comprehensive so no need to repeat them again. I just wanted to warn you not to lose the small plastic clip on the remote control (it fell off my remote from just casual use) as Sony will try to charge you 17 pounds for a new one - which seems a lot to me for a small piece of plastic just 3 cm by 0.5 cm. I found it an interesting piece of post-sales service from a company that is trying to compete with the likes of Apple as it loses market share...
I'm also lead to believe you might need to remortgage your house if you actually break/lose the remote itself.

The best minidisc player/recorder you can get

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Sep

I have had this piece of kit for more than a month and all I can say is that its one of the best things I have ever bought. The battery life is great, LP4 saves hours of songs and plays to a high quality. The pc software is easy to use and the documentation is idiot proof. Functionality is endless and its small, stylish and light. What more can you ask for in a minidisc player.
