top quality at a sensible price
One fantastic piece of equipment very easy to use the camera has a quality feel with its all metal body and smooth operating function buttons a must have for serious amatures or pro`s. The quality of picture is as good as cameras costing twice as much. You have a choice of fully automatic, apature prioraty and manual and uses the most universal memory storage system, compact flash. The histogram and picture information is exellent telling you when the picture was taken apature and shutter speed information is all digitally recorded along with your image. I have an extensive professional slr outfit costing thousands and i find the small digital camara taking its place with instant results to download and burn to a p.c slide show. The only down side is no rechargable batteries included so this a must if you buy one it eats alkaline batteries. The other is the kit only comes with very basic digital extraction software.you can upgrade to somthing better later. Their is some great software on the market .you will find the results on this camera just fantastic!!!!!!!

Damned good camera and easy to use
Well I did my research, nosed around the internet for road tests, read magazine reviews, obviously read the other amazon reviews here and decided that this was the camera for me. It was bought from amazon (in the meantime I'd ordered and charged some 2200Mah rechargeable batteries in eager anticipation) and as soon as it was out of the box, batteries and flash card installed I was using the camera. As usual I didn't read the manual - you really don't need to to start taking photos. In use the usual delay between pushing the button and actually taking a photo is almost negligible infact it's almost the same as my Dynax 5 - definitely better than one of my friends' Fuji.
If you're looking for a digital camera which'll give you the option to take snaps or get more artisic at a really good price then just buy it ! But get some high capacity rechargeable batteries.

Minolta S414
I don't understand why this camera isn't top of the best sellers. With 4m pixels and true 4x zoom, the spec is way better than more expensively priced 3m pixel devices. At £251, it's an absolute bargain.
The camera is a delight to handle, it looks great and it's a doddle to use. The pictures are superb and the video feature isn't bad either. There are ample features to cater for the more advanced user, while the standard auto features work fine.
With a 256bm Viking compact flash card it will hold around 180 pics. NiMh batteries (2 sets) are essential though, as is a larger flash card than the meagre 16mb provided (11 pics).
It's exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend this device.

Delighted with Minolta Dimage 414
Excellent value for a semi professinal camera. Almost got everything I wanted in a digital camera. This is my first digital and I am delighted with the results. Excellent picture quality - easy to use. Even my 10 year old daughter can use it with ease. Didn't even bother to read the manual. Very user friendly. Lots of extras for the price. I have no complains. However, Minolta could have designed the lens cap little bit better - bit of a nuisnace when you see the lens cap dangling. Battery life is bit short - I bought 3 sets of AA 2000 mAh Ni-Mh and a 1 hour fast charger + a 128 MB flash card. An excellent camera for the price and whole family is delighted with the results. Tamrac 5693 is ideal for case.

Excellent camera at a bargain price
This camera is a fantastic bargain. It is priced similarly to 3-megapixel 3x zoom cameras like the Canon A70 but instead you get 4 megapixels and a 4x zoom. Images are excellent quality both indoors and out and the camera is extremely easy to use on automatic mode (not really explored manual settings yet - this is my first digital camera). You will need to get some high capacity Nimh rechargable batteries since alkalines don't last long.
