Unassuming yet capable

Looked at a number of similar units prior to purchasing on-line and was impressed with the unit's performance. Some competitors products were 2 to 3 times the cost and sounded no better and many were in fact worse.

The sound is really good considering the power output and adequate for a small bedroom or a second holiday home or similar.
The 3 components are solidly constructed and the speakers sound construction must contribute a lot to the great sound produced.

Only minor critisism would be that some of the controls are a little small and tape deck only suitible for normal tapes but hey..for this sort of money not a major issue and comes with a remote. You can't really go wrong with this unit!

Excellent!

The Philips MC120 Micro System is a very attractive, compact system with good sound quality.

The features I particularly like are:

1. A 'shuffle' feature which actually works.
2. The Surround Sound button.
3. The mirror reflecting a green light on the spinning CD when it is playing!

The only negative comments I have about this product are that:

1. The lowest volume is still quite loud, which generally isn't a problem, but it is a bit too loud at night.
2. When recording from CD to tape, the CD does not stop when the tape comes to the end.

- Quite trivial things really!

Over all, I would highly recommend this product.

Small but powerful

I can't believe how excellent this product is for the price. I shopped around and had to send 2 micro systems back that cost me over £200. I'm amazed @ how this product provides the features and sound quality that the more expensive ones provide. Go for this product, you won't regret it.

Great for the money

I bough this as a present for my mother who was confused by her old system.
For the money, it has good radio reception, good CD and is straight forward to use.
It does not have many frills and gadgets but the sound quality is better than expected.

Brilliant for a small room...

I bought this for a very reasonable price and am more than satisfied with the system.
For its price you just cannot go wrong!
