SONY D-EJ985 Walkman

first of all i would like to say that the information amazon suply for this cd player is inacurate. this player does come suplyied with two flat pack rechargeable batterys. of all the disk walkmans i've had over the years this has got to be the most impressive one i have listened to the bass is really good on it the the sound couldn't be sharper. the g protection on the cd player is amazing you can drop the thing on hard floors and it will still keep playing. as for style u could get anything more stylish then this player as it is only 16mm thick it is one of the smallest players on the market.

Sony D-EJ985 CD Walkman

I absolutely reccomend the DEJ855. It's a great sounding and very reliable CD player, not to mention that it's quite stylish.

First off, the size of the DEJ985 is pretty thin; about 16cm thick. It also has an astounding battery life(120 hrs). I spent several months of casual listening on a full charge and battery pack without ever having to recharge or replace the batteries. Another thing about it is that it's quite rugged. I've dropped this CD player on hard floors twice, and it still functions just fine with no noticable loss in performance. Most of all, the thing sounds absolutely great.

The remote itself is pretty solid. It takes getting used to, but after a while, you begin using it almost unconciously. It's easy to grip, and the buttons are ergonomically placed for either hand. It's also backlit making for easy reading in dark situations.

However, there are a few things that bug me about the DEJ985. The buttons on the player itself are extremely tiny. It's quite tedious to actually use the buttons on the player. Thankfully, the remote makes such unnecessary. Another potential problem is the CD lid. The player is made from quite a flexible metal, assumingly aluminum. A sufficent blow to the lid could bend it out of shape, possibly making it unable to be closed or scratch the top of the CD.

But, all in all, this is a spectacular CD player. The flaws are overlookable with some tender love and care. If you're in the market for a a new CD player, and have money to burn, I fully reccomend the DEJ985 or any of the other new players in Sony's line.
