Does exactly what it says on the tin!

Jan 6, 2004 - By Amazon Customer

Recently made a start into video editting on my PC.

My first job i set myself though was to transfer my old analogue home videos (from VHS tape) to the PC for editing and burning to DVD.

For this job I invested in a Dazzle Fusion and a USB2/Firewire combo card. Windows XP recognised the new card, installed the Dazzle Fusion s/w and, voila, it all worked first time.

Capturing the analogue video input couldn't be easier. Just press 'play' on the VCR after connecting it to the 'Fusion' box and then hit the record button within the supplied s/w.

All worked first and every time. Up and running in five minutes, literally.

Recommended!

Fusion Combo Fun

Aug 1, 2003 - By Amazon Customer

Having bought this item I was a little woried about how compatible it would be with my camcorder and I was pleasantly surprised. The set up was easy and the results excellent. I have already used the dazzle fusion to burn a vcd of me meeting Paul Daniels to show my brothers because they didn't believe me! The software included has some great effects to make a boring holiday video lively and with music. The ability to download pictures from digital cameras by cards (like compact flash cards) is a real bonus. All in all a great combo that does not require a huge amount of skill and knowledge to make your very own DVD's or VCD's from your DV video. I would thoroughly recommend it.

Does a good job

Nov 12, 2003 - By Steve (Renfrewshire, United Kingdom)

Installed this with no problems and linked up my analogue camcorder (and connecting a video player works fine too - using av cables). Used the Dazzle Moviestar software to capture the video and this worked fine. Moviestar is pretty simplistic for movie editing (especially the audio editing), but it worked fine and output some pretty decent Mpeg. Then used the OnDVD software to make a DVD menu and write a DVD. All of this worked fine, though there wasn't much room for fiddling with things. All in all a good product with the only downside being that it uses USB 1.0, so you're stuck with approximately VCR quality output. Think Dazzle also do a similar USB 2.0 device though.

Dazzle fusion review

May 17, 2003 - By Amazon Customer

Bought it a week ago from Dixons. After downloading the drivers and the software as instructed, connected the device to the computer. At this point, my computer froze and no programme would work until I uninstalled the software. I have tried to reload the programme after advice from the Dixons salesperson, but it would still not work.
Am going to return it this weekend.
