I got this pen as a birthday present with some money I was given. I was prepared for it to be an unnecessary extravagance (but that's what birthdays are for isn't it?).

It turned out to be an incredibly useful purchase. I have always taken handwritten notes because they help me concentrate. My problem has always been filing them in such a way they can be easily retrieved when I need them again. This is no longer an issue.

The software distinguishes between writing and drawings - that was another surprise - I find that illustrations help me remember stuff, so I like to use them a lot.

I recently discovered the handwriting recognition program - which again suprised me - I had no expectation of it producing anything useful but have found that even my worst scrawl comes out suprisingly well.

In summary, it's a really useful product - especially if you like taking notes with illustrations.

I was given the pen for a birthday present and found it most useful. It wouldn't have been an item i would have purchased for myself but after having it for a month I don't know what I would do without it. Especially useful at minute taking in meetings where you then download the written pages and the recognition software immediately transfers them into text, a vitual time saver good for drawing charts and also freeform drawings. Watch were you put your signature with this pen tough. One bad point is that you do need to use the digital notepaper and this can be quite expensive in postage and packing.
