I purchased this remote to replaced six individual remote controls, Out of all the items I needed to set up the remote to opperate none of the supplied codes were of any use so each remote function had to be "taught". this is quite easy to do and the supplied instructions are clear and accurate.
during set up you get the ability to edit the names of functon buttons so the remote can be customised for your own requirements.
after programming the remote( About 2 hours) the remote works very well no more picking up 2 3 or 4 remotes this one does it all. The only slight moan is the lcd display is not as clear as I would have liked.
In conclusion if you are looking for a remote to replace the pile of remotes you have then this could be for you, Having tried various programmable remotes this has to be the best one I have used

This remote is the daddy of them all - but only because of two things:
1. it will run anything you have, from a TV to Lighting. If its controlled by IR then this will control it.
2. it is SO complicated to set up and run...you'll be pushing the buttons to select the TV, then the VCR and using the volume controls for everything.
It won't run the new set top boxes without some major learning...be prepared to spend an hour or so in a different room underneath a pillow (the range is superb!)
Recommended for the person who loves to control everything sony from one box that does it ALL

The remote was purchased in order to improve on the limited TV program changes using the cable TV Guide supplied. Unlike the option offered of on a screen menu of up to 3 days ahead of program changes, this remote gives up to 12 program changes over seven days using the timer and macro programming built in.
The remote is easy to set-up and the one remote I could not find the settings was easy to learn.
