I was looking for a 2 in 1 camera, one that would take still pictures and also act as a webcam. I tried the "Che-ez! Moni-Me Digital Camera with LCD Screen [0.3MP]" at a friends house and simply fell in love with it.
It has 330,000 pixels giving a pretty good quality image for something the size of a packet of cigarettes. The thing I really loved was its mobility, you can simply slip it into your back pocket and no one knows it is there. Then to view your sneaky clips simply connect it you your USB port and there you go.
Another useful feature this camera has is its small LCD screen that informs you on how many snaps you have taken.
I think that with a generous 4MB memory and the capacity to store 60! Pictures the
"Che-ez! Moni-Me Digital Camera with LCD Screen [0.3MP]" is a definite must for anyone looking for a slim, small and stylish piece of kit. I would recommend this to anyone!!
Tiny but Mighty
A while ago i purchased an expensive, 4 million megapixel digital camera. It takes great pictures and i still use it now, but i wanted to buy something smaller, that i could take out with me to bars and clubs, without having to worry about losing. I needed something that was cheap, small, and could take ok quality photographs for showing to family and friends. Finally, after much searching, i came across the Che-ez! Moni-Me camera. It is literally the size of a small mobile phone (such as the erricsson T65) and is extemely well-endowed. It can take pictures of up to 330,000 pixels (which is fine for photos at parties etc.) However, the real winner for the Moni-Me is its LCD screen. This allows pictures to be viewed whilst on move, and really sets this camera apart from all the others in its size and price range. That's all well and good, you may say, but what's it like in the flesh?
As soon as I took it out the packaging and picked it up for the first time, i fell in love with it. It has a tiny, full metal body and a sliding lens cover, giving it a quality, sosphisticated feel which belies its price. Set up and installation was no problem, and I was ready to start shooting within 30 minutes.
Now, for the pictures... The first time it took the Moni-Me out, it was to the local nightclub. It slipped comfortably into the back pocket of my jeans and i barely even noticed it was there! Despite having had a few to drink, and never having used the camera before, it was simple to manipulate. The next morning i loaded the pictures onto my PC and was amazed at the quality, especially since the camera has no flash and only 0.3 megapixels. I emailed the results to my mates and we all had a good laugh.
The only real rival to the Moni-Me is the sipix blink, but the Moni-Me is streaks ahead as it feels more expensive, takes better pictures, and has its own lcd...
Now the Moni-Me never leaves my pocket and i've even bought my girl-friend one. I would recommend to anyone as a secondary "fun" camera, with good results from point-and-shoot simplicity.
The only flaw to the Moni-Me is its no-upgradable 4MB memory, which still allows for 60 fine quality pictures (the equivilent of three rolls of standard 35mm film). But this is nothing to worry about as long as you upload your pictures regularly. The battery compumption was fine, with one AA cell (although i would recommend using alkaline instead of rechargable batteries for better results).
In short, this camera is suitable for ANYONE and is could beat the hell out of any other camera at its price level. You'd be mad not to buy it!
Cool - until you use it..
I was amazed to see a camera with an LCD screen at this price and my initial impression of it was very positive. It come nicely presented and has a solid aluminium case. The battery compartment is flimsy and the buttons are a bit fiddly, but at the price it seems good.
Then I tried to use it. The LCD screen is very dim, and without the backlight on it is useless. The pictures are poor. In doors they are dark and poorly defined. Outside they just wash out and I have failed to get single picture that doesn't look frankly blurred.
But my biggest problems were battery use, which is frightening, and poor reliability. It is possible that mine was faulty, but I had no end of trouble with the thing crashing and then refusing to turn back on.
What can I say - I sent mine back...
Totally Honest Opinion of this product...
...what a load of rubbish this camera is.
My advice to any of you out there is not to buy any Che-Ez products at this price range, as there has to be absolute perfect lighting to take any pictures worth looking at once your finished.
This camera is meant to have a red wash over the picture? 1/10 pictures appear to be of an average quality. Please dont spend your money on this product save some money and buy a better brand.
The good points are, yes its small yes it looks cool and yes impress your friends and family with this cool new gizmo.......until they turn it on :(
Nice little toy
I ordered this camera as the cheapest way of getting pics onto my computer for emailing and stuff, and because it looked pretty cool. The nice LCD screen was a big bonus at this price and set it apart from other cameras in this price range.
It takes pretty reasonable pictures outdoors but is not good in dull lighting and im getting bored of "low light" warnings. However colours are generally good outside.
So far it has been good for occasions when you just want a camera you can tuck away and produce when you fancy a random picture, the camera fits nicely in your jeans pocket.
The only real problem I have had is with battery life. Once you've taken some pics and viewed them on your LCD your battery is pretty drained and had to replace them frequently. Also ive had some problems with losing pictures from the memory but finding them in my picture file every time I download my latest load of pictures!
Overall i would say this camera is good for a laugh and to impress your mates with, but has its limitations. I think in future i would spend a bit more money and get a slightly more practical camera.
