I am new to the world of digital cameras, but I have to say I am convinced I have bought one of the best all-rounders, especially for the price. As with the previous reviewer, I was narrowed down to the P7 or P9, and chose the P9 simply because I thought I'd want to print out images on A4 occasionally.

It took about 3 days to get used to all the functions (though I was "snapping" within 10 minutes), but from that moment on, I've been taking pictures of almost anything!

There are smaller cameras offering the same functions, but I found that any smaller, and I just couldn't hold them.

The camera has all the normal useful functions, red eye reduction, auto focus etc etc, most of which can be either "auto" or "manual". The MPEG recording facility is superb, I thought this was a bit of a gimmick at first, but have found myself taking short recordings, with sound, over and over.

I have no regrets whatsoever with this purchase, and 3 colleagues at work have all bought one since, having had a look and a play.

I am fairly new to the digital World and spent some time researching into all the cameras. It came down to a P7 or P9. Not much different in terms of features. They both look identical except that the P9 is a 4 megapixel camera.

I have got some really good pictures from this camera and would recommend to other people.

The only drawback is that it comes with a 16mb memory stick and no camera bag, but hey that's Sony all round!!
