Biker's Tripod

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on May 28, 2004
With my motorcycles being my sole and preferred mode of transport i appreciate anything that is easily pocketed and this piece of kit is excellent for what i want.
The Sony P10 had made life much easier anyway but i never thought i'd be able to easily carry a tripod with me everywhere, especially being constantly on and off the bike to capture scenes and moments and the action at the road races such as the TT and NW200.
It may not stand very tall, much to some wedding guests amusement recently in Ireland, but it's ability to make use of walls, fence posts and my bike to get steadier shots is just superb. Brilliant quality too, and with a drawstring pouch and cleaning cloth for the lens/screen etc.
Camera over the shoulder, tripod in my inside pocket, superb.

Little beauty

(5 out of 5) by David Morris on Jan 11, 2007 (Sheffield, UK)
I got one of these to use with both our "little" Olympus C765UZ and the slightly larger Canon EOS350D. It's very stable, extremely well made (it oozes quality) and at a shade over 14cm long when retracted, is pocket-sized. If you want a big tripod with panning head, don't buy this. If you want a handy little tripod to drop in a bag or your pocket when you go out walking that you can set up on a rock or a nearby wall, buy this.

Really nice little tripod

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jul 30, 2005
Got this to go with my compact digital camera - I bought a small camera for a reason, and I didn't want to spoil that with a large tripod!
The tripod is really nicely built, and has a really robust feel to it. The mechanism is very simple (just a ball and cup joint with a thumbscrew to tighten it) - I can't envisage it ever failing (though normal use, anyway!). You can even turn the camera through 90 degrees to use the camera vertically, using the notch on the side, which is very useful.
It doesn't have any fancy features, but they would just serve to make it less pocketable in my opinion - it really is very portable.
For what it's worth it also looks beautiful, but it backs up its form with plenty of function!
Definately recommended.

A beautiful bit of kit

(5 out of 5) by Annie on Jan 5, 2005 (London United Kingdom)
What you can't fully appreciate from the picture is just what a lovely piece of kit this is. This doesn't matter to some people but if you do care about things looking good then this is the mini tripod for you. It's tiny - so only for table or wall top use unless you are photographing ants! The other thing that I think wasn't made clear was that it has a swivel head. Most tripods have this but some tiny travel ones don't. So this really is everything you'd want in a mini tripod. My boyfriend (a photographer) has loads of full strength professional tripods but was cooing over this. Also very light and when folded fits into your hand.

Not a leg to stand on?

(4 out of 5) by Michael Wilson on Jul 13, 2004 (UK)
It says what it does on the box. A small, portable tripod for your video or stills camera to give you something more flexible (and stable) than a convenient wall when taking pictures of yourself or that shot which requires a bit more steadiness. For the money you would be mad not to pack one wherever you go..
