Just purchased the new P130 and to say I'm happy with it is an understatement. I thought the P100 was excellent but this new machine has double the resolution. Absolutely magic !!!! The only down side is the time it takes to print but, it's well worth the wait. Can't rate this product highly enough.

I was very satisfied with the performance of this printer.
When used with a 2M pixel camera, the quality is amazing. You would need to get very very close or use a magnifying glass to see any graininess.
The usability is good, with a very useful index card. I do recommend that you delete unwanted pictures out of the card before putting it into the printer, then you can let the printer print all the pictures with no manual intervention.
Technically, the printer can deal with a lot of messing with no complaints. I have used a PC to edit JPEG files and placed them on a CF card for printing. The printer easily accepted several different JPEG formats from several editing programs. For pictures which are not the standard 6x4 shape, the printer automatically scales and crops the image without annoying the user.
My only problem is that the ink on the photographs does tend to smudge if brought in contact with water or damp fingertips. Therefore I recommend storing the photos in an album directly after printing. I can't really complain about this because I should take care of my photos anyway.

My first impression of the printer was “it’s tiny”. The instructions are clear and within a few minutes I had set up the printer and printed the test page. Next, I opted to print a photo from my cameras compact flash memory card. I inserted the card and at the press of a few buttons the printing process began. Two minutes later I had a borderless 6x4 print indistinguishable from the real thing.
Next I tried using the USB connection with my PC, don’t forget to purchase a separate USB cable. The software installation went smoothly and soon I was printing photos from my hard disk that I had edited using third party software, (HP provide a their own suite of software).
This is a great printer and is ideal for use as a standalone printer for those with a digital camera or in conjunction with a PC. One slight issue is that the paper feeds in from the front and goes out the back before returning into the font as the print process begins. So you need to allow clearance at the rear of the printer. At this price it’s a bargain for any digital photographer.

As a complete novice when it comes to digital photography I was looking for something to print out photographs quickly and easily. The HP PhotoSmart P130 Printer was excellent. It was easy to set up and install (believe me, if I can do it so can anyone else). I was absolutely amazed at the photo quality - you couldn't tell the difference between what is printed and what you would get from a photo lab. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a simple, cheap and convenient way to print photographs. Also, you don't need to have a PC to use this printer - just insert your memory card, from the camera and hey presto! Of course, if you do have a PC you can resize the photographs etc.
