Digital Blue is a great place to start to learn basic movie making and animation techniques. The hardware is durable and easy to install, the software is simple enough to enable you to be editing and creating within minutes but offers enough options to keep you interested. It does not offer professional standard quality, but in the school or home context is a great learning tool at a reasonable price. My least motivated pupils took to it immediately and had to be dragged away at the end of a session. The star attraction is the stop motion camera which allows you to create your own 'Morph' within minutes, and marvel at the patience and skill of the professional animators at places like Aardman. First class.
