Nice, powerful package

(5 out of 5) by Josh the pyromaniac teen. on Jul 14, 2003 (England)
The best thing about these is that they're only £24, but they're the most powerful mini speakers I could find!

These mini speakers are excellent value for money. They're very powerful, but soooo small, and the great thing is that they're portable(great for coach journeys to france). You plug batteries in them, so you can listen to them on the coach trip, and in the hotel room you plug the speakers into the mains so you don't run the batteries down. It's very hard to find decent & cheap minispeakers, but these ones fit the bill. They are very compact even though they're made up of 3 units, the speaker cone is 3 inches and can go up to 75 dcb, which is very loud for minispeakers! I also tried them with my laptop and they also work really well.

Sound is okay, very light

(3 out of 5) by L. Duran-Camfferman on May 21, 2004 (Netherlands)
The sound is okay from these little things, bit metalic. They're very light and small, which means we could use velcro to tape them to the inside of the computer closet (doesn't use footprint that way).
The one thing I don't like so much is the background hum when they're switch on but not in use. But then again, that is easy to solve if you just switch them off.

RUBBISH

(1 out of 5) by Ben Nicholls on Dec 23, 2003
i bought these speakers as a small, powerfull description.
the sound is hevily distorted and there is alot of hiss in the background. they produce the range of sounds just about keeping up to fm radio quailty. !!!DO NOT BUY!!

the only plus point is they are cheap, and light

ok

(4 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Feb 18, 2003
well they are really small and quite spacesaving i can assure u of that. their ultrabass quite does some job although i think a separate subwoofer would have a big difference. i have not noticed any distortion of sound even in the higher volume. the bad thing is that they a bit tinny sound but nothing auful. i think they are quite ok and i am pretty happy to have them although the price i leave for u to judge

It all depends on what you want

(5 out of 5) by b2 on Nov 11, 2004 (Norway)
These 2:0 speakers are excellent if you are living in a
apartment where you can't play to loud. The bass is ok but
not something that will bring your neighbors at door.
I am only missing a treble control.

I will primary use these with my portable computer and also with
my Korg PXR4 guitar effect processor. I then will be able to
practice guitar without worring about complains from my
neighbors. I can also connect a headphone to the output in front.
The speakers are quiet but of course if you set the volume at max there
will be some hizz sound when not playing music.

I first bought a 2:1 set of Altec Lansing speakers VS4121 with
seperate subwoofer. But the first evening I played some music
a bit lound with them one of my neighbors complained.
It is not easy being a heavy metal electric guitar player
living in a apartment, some day I will have my own house:))

If you want BIG sound with "BANG!BANG!" bass sound these speakers
are not for you. You then should buy a 2:1 set of speakers with
a seperate subwoofer.
