(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Aug 20, 2003This is an excellent DVD player for its price. Non region 2 discs play straight away when put in the machine. This is an ideal machine for a DVD novice.

Have to agree with poor reviews !!!
(1 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Aug 13, 2003Oh dear !!! Nice picture, simple design, but very badly let down by the sound quality. The dialogue gets simply drowned out by the background music, and you have to have the TV volume cranked up high (even when the default setting is raised).
All in all, not good value, not a good player !!!
Poor performance

Poor Quality and only lasted a year
(1 out of 5) by David Rawle on Jun 19, 2003 (UK)Don't bother with this one. It arrived in pieces (I assume due to poor build quality), the menu system is not good, the picture quality isn't great, although the sound through a Bose system was fine.
But...it is only 10 or 11 months old and it has given up completely. The green power light is the only thing that works now. I will have to dismantle it to get a CD out that is still in there.
Spend the extra and get a reputable name.
