I bought this to replace an old radio cassette recorder that had seen many years service, and cost somewhat more than the Philips did! I am very pleased with the quality of sound when playing CDs or tapes. The radio's reception is very good, even without using the aerial for some FM stations. It is possible to record from CD or radio onto tape, and the recording quality is exceedingly good.

Do you get the impression that I am pleased with my purchase? You should do, I would recommend that this finds its way onto your list if you are considering buying a combination machine.
