The DVD that has everything

(4 out of 5) by Darren Evans on Sep 13, 2002 (Manchester, Lancs United Kingdom)
...The player had everything I wanted, DVD, VCD, MP3, Dolby Digital Decoder. I was a bit unsure because of the make of the player and also because it was so cheap, I thought I'd give it a go regardless. The DVD player looks nice, really slim line and it looks better than my £400 one I had, but to my horror I noticed that it didn't have Video CD on the front of it. That was one of the main reasons on choosing this player has I have a load of VCD's. I checked out the manual and couldn't see it in there either. It says that VCD's work on it in the description on the website, so on the off chance I tried a VCD. To my delight it recognized the CD no problem, the disc worked fine.
When I plugged the DVD player in I had to change the language to English and had to change the display and audio which only took a minute then I was away.
I tried a region 1 and a region 4 disk they worked fine.

I have a lot of Mp3's because I have a Mp3 player in the car so it was another good feature so I now can listen to my music in the house.

The picture is crisp and sharp, you can see really up close that it's not the same standard has high spec DVD's but that's just being picky.
The sound is also good when running through a Dolby digital compatible Amp.

If you looking for a cheap DVD player that does the lot, look no further this player is superb, you will not be disappointed.

Great First DVD Player!

(4 out of 5) by Katy Edwards (katylouise017@hotmail.com) on May 12, 2002 (UK)
I got this player for christmas and haven't stopped using it since! It has all the basic features plus a few extras that you wouldn't expect to get on a player of this price. The sound and picture quality are excellent and it gives a surround sound effect without the speakers! I would recommend it as it is a great first DVD player at an excellent price for what you get.

excellent!!

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Aug 15, 2002
what can i say? this dvd has played everything we have thrown at it, vcds (thank god) super vcds the lot!!!I like the way it random selects mp3s and gives all details of tracks etc It is very user friendly (even my three year old can work his way around it) we are so pleased that we chose this model as we have spoken to people who have bought cheaper dvd players from their supermarkets that will only play dvds and they are disappointed.
Best choice, best value for money, delivery good and quick. Excellent!!

HIGH PERFORMANCE DVD PLAYER AT LOW COST

(5 out of 5) by Mr. Peter Morgan on Jul 20, 2002 (Wetherby, West Yorkshire United Kingdom)
I needed a low cost Multi Region DVD player. I read the reviews, and decided to take a chance. I ordered it and the next day it arrived, and just like the reviews said, straight out of the box plug in and it worked. All the required leads are there. If you are used to computers or video machines you will find setting this one up a doddle.
The picture and sound are really good, I can't get over how good the still picture is. The selection of the DVD Region is completely automatic, if you are on auto run you just load the DVD and sit back and enjoy.

My God What a Good DVD PLayer!!

(5 out of 5) by B. Stewart on Oct 17, 2002 (England)
I received my DVD Player yesterday. Its the Third DVD Player i've had and i must say its maybe the BEST!

First the bad Points.

1. The Remote - Although not as bad as what some people say the only drawback to the remote is the slipping door on it. I dont know if i'm the only one who as this problem but the slipping door is very STIFF. The Quality of this is very bad!!! But the design of the remote (in the placement of the buttons) is very good a little big but not bad.

2. VCD MPEG - I dont know if it was just my previous DVD Player (Acoustic Solutions DVD551) But when i encode an AVI in MPEG VCD format and just burn it onto CD without formatted the cd for VCD i.e changing the MPEG to DAT. I am still happen to put the CDR into my old dvd player and then select the file and press play. With this player i'm not able to do this. But again this is not a big problem.

Other notes about this player include (Good Points)

1. When starting up it is in french (this is not a problem as we do need to remember that this is an french company) Its very easy to change the language)
2. The Sound quality of this unit is FIRST CLASS!!!
3. Picture is also good nothing special but an solid DVD picture
4. I like the way the zoom works on this unit too as you can move around the picture whilst in zoom mode and i like the way zoom is activated
5. The Way the picture shrinks and other features pop up when you press the display button is also very nice (a little like when you press the tv guide button on NTL DIGITAL)
6. I HAVE THE SILVER MODEL WHICH IS VERY NICE TO LOOK AT - Although not "SLIMLINE" its still a nice size for a dvd player.

I would recommmend first time dvd buyers and people wanting a second dvd player to take a close look at this beautiful.

It will play anything you throw at it SVCD,Copied dvd, VCD, MP3, AUDIO CD. And on top of that its

MULTI REGION

WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?!
