I've only had this player for 10 months and I use it about once a week, if that. Now it jumps on every dvd at chapter 5 and has ruined two of my music cd's that were created on the computer. I'll never buy H&B products again!!

Words of Caution
I chose this model because of the economy. DVD player being an immature technology,I thought I should be prepared to buy another one in couple of years time. This is the cheapest multi region DVD player available that can play Video CDs. It probably would not play SVCD. Regarding DTS, a word of caution you need separate amplifier. It weighs 4.2 Kg I am not sure why if you see other (Toshiba) can weigh as little as 2.3 Kg.I liked the look & it doesn't feel Heavy either...

Plug & play!
Following advice from a colleague who had a silver one, I got this cheap multi zone player. In black to harmonise with my hifi system.
Installation very easy, very good sound & image. Can't compare it to other DVD players, but fully satisfied with the result. Remote control looks a bit cheap, but with all necessary features. This player seems to read eveything. Tried a US DVD, works perfectly. CD (normal & CD RW) sound is good but I prefer my (much more expensive) CD player. Lots of outputs (optical, coaxial, etc.) I will probably never use.
One tip: to connect to a normal (ie non audio-video) amplifier, make use of the "front" outputs as utilisation notice is unclear on this. H&B may be unknown, but for the price, who cares?
Go for it, excellent value for money.

Excellent value for money.
...there's not really anything you can complain about with this. It's compact, black, and multi-region.
It is small in height but seems fairly wide. Don't worry though as it is the same width as standard hi-fi separates.
H&B are a French company so when you first, start the menus are in French. However the manual explains how to set the default language so you shouldn't have any trouble. (It'll probably take you longer to find the English manual than it will to change the language!)

We got a bad one
Got the player out the box, plugged it in...and got nothing. Checked the fuse...fine...still nothing. Changed the fuse...fine...still nothing. I was going to order a replacement but for an extra tenner you can get the Yelo 800DVD which also has macrovision, so why bother with this one?!
