Sony LCS-CP2 Supersoft Carrying Case

(2 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Dec 28, 2003
The quality of this case is superb, however i found it to be miles to big for the DSC-P10 camera. It is ideal if you wish to carry just about every accesory supplied by Sony Ie battery charger, cables, lenses 20 spare memory sticks etc. However, for the average family it is just enormous!! It is actually possible to fit two P10's in the case with room to spare. It will provide plenty of protection, but will allow the camera to slop around inside, unless padded out with additonal material.

Great it you want to carry 2 cameras

(2 out of 5) by SuperTed on Jul 25, 2003 (London, UK)
I've just bought the Sony DSC-P72 and this case was included as part of a special offer. I'm very glad I didn't spend any money on it.

Yes, it's very soft and good at protecting an otherwise un-cased camera, but why is the case so big? The main pocket for the camera actually has room for two P72s! I believe the main pocket could have been made a lot smaller and still be capable of storing any of the cameras listed.

Secondly, there are two main pockets in the case. The second of these has two inserts for storing batteries and memory sticks, but with only a thin mesh and a zip to separate them I wouldn't feel too safe carrying them both at the same time. If you're going to carry a memory stick in this case, you definitely need something else to protect the stick.

All in all, a suitable case for the camera (which needs protecting), but you don't get much for your money.

Sony Carry case - Does it sink or swim?

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Oct 26, 2003
I recently purchased this case for a P10 and the main compartment does have room for two of these cameras!

However, before buying this item, I had a look at the other cases offered by sony and found that this one had definitely the best amount of protection for the camera as it is well padded despite having a baggy fit.

The front section has a mesh compartment for memory sticks and a zipped compartment for a battery - I tried to fit some of the cables in there but it didn't really work! This is good if you have many memory sticks to store.

The case comes with a shoulder strap which is adjustable, but clips onto the bag using large, ugly looking clips which is a bit annoying as sony have slightly overlooked the style factor of the strap. However there is a small section of the strap which has an extra layer of padding for your shoulder - nice touch.

This is one of the best cases in the region of £20 offered by sony for protecting a camera well and storing a few memory sticks. The case fits neatly over your shoulder without weighing you down and looks quite stylish too despite those clips. Anyway, for £20, this is the best case that sony has to offer witout forking out around £40 for a leather case which I don't think offers great protection but just the looks. What use are looks if the camera is damaged?

A great case at an excellent price.

Extra-Large, extra-comfortable, cheaper here but still dear.

It's made in China, 100% Poliuretano. I have no idea what that is, but It feels like a mix between leaver and soft PVC. The case is very, very comfortable. It is absolutely huge and, to be honest, doesn't go very well in the pocket which is disappointing given the fact that the camera itself is so small it deserves to be encased in the pocket for ease of mind.

As other people have commented, it can happily fit two P10s inside. There are two compartments, one huge, one small. The smaller one has two pockets, one zip and one loose. Contrary to what another reviewer has said, I find that my memory sticks are very secure in there, especially if you use your soft plastic stick cover.

The Main compartment is soft inside and spacious so it gives the camera room to jostle about a bit without damaging it at all. I found the extra space quite useful in fact. When I am going out with the camera, I don't trust the shoulder strap (the camera comes with a nice large one) so I tend to go for attaching to my belt (yes, a bit geeky). One thing I hate about the smaller cases is that when u sit down you find the camera digging into your stomach or your legs so I often have to take out the camera or unattach the case. Not so \in this case (excuse the poor pun). The added flexibility afforded by the extra room means it's not necessary to worry while carrying it - it's perfectly comfortable.

If you can afford the quality and don't mind it being a bit too bulky then this is the case for you.

Big big for the P8, but feels like it would offer protection

You could probably get 2 DSC-P8 in this carry case at the same time, with one in the case it does wobble about a lot. The case itself is padded so even though the camera moves about it shouldn't get any knocks. The zip compartment looks like it could take a few memory sticks and a spare battery but not much else. A good case but I'd prefer a tighter fit for the camera.
